This is not initial start up for the motor in this truck, it had been run for 30-40 miles prior to this start up.

 
Beautiful work, Stan. As a happy Vortec owner (past and future) - you are doing good things for people.

I may have missed it, but what's the exhaust set-up - single/dual and what muffler?

Hey Stan, some of your earlier pictures aren't showing up for me anymore... But if I remember correctly, post #27 was where you showed how a tumbler had restored some bolts from rusty/nasty to shiny. What kind of tumbler and polish did you use?

Forgive the hijack but I've had pretty good luck with an old discarded rock tumbler (homemade versions are on online). What trial and error has taught me: Use a nice solvent for the grease (purple stuff or some simple green), an abrasive for the rust (fine sand), and patience (8+ hours or tumbling)

The exhaust is 2 into 1 with two cats and a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. The cross over is at the back of the trans just before the cross member. 2.5" tube.

I use a tumbler purchased at Harbor Freight . Greasey stuff I clean with solvent first and alllow to dry. I use media found at HF, little pyramid shaped pieces. Rice is right on the mark, time, lots of time. Usually a day or two in the tumbler.
 
We are working on other video. Trying to work out rotation problem. We were doing some highway runs today, think Silverado power in a 62, you get on it at 65 MPH and you are doing 80 in a flash.

Ramon, I am glad that you like the gauges, the camps are kind of split on gauges. There are a lot of guys out there that want to keep the gauges stock. I can't see keeping gauges that were not even accurate when they were new. The plan was to keep it as OEM as possible with modern equipment. Same applied to the shifter, the idea for the tall shifter was to mimic the shifter in the 60.
 
U need a tv show. I would much prefer watching land cruisers being reborn then all the other classics that are out there on TV.

Wow, its been a while since I caught up on the build. Amazing stuff Stan, love the gauges. I wish I could drop my cruiser(s) off there, unfortunately it's hard when you only make tens of dollars
