Continuing on cleaning and painting the firewall. A couple runs behind the heater box. Not too concerned. Need some weather stripping for resealing the box to the firewall and fender. Might just use weather stripping. SOR has a kit, but it's $24 bucks.

Continued on the firewall degreasing and painting today. One more coat and I can reinstall with intake and freshly rebuild carb I finished last weekend. Hard to detail the firewall with the engine in, but it can be done. Anyone have any ideas for coating to bottom of my fiberglass hood so the mesh doesn't show through the paint?

Don't know if this will work to cover up the tell tale fiberglass look as I have never done this. But, can you use a bed liner and then spay over that with the body color paint?

Finally got the manifolds reinstalled last weekend. That was fun. Anyway. Started working on the vacuum hoses after my desmog. I have a few questions after studying all the post, pictures, and factory emission manual.

Do the two vacuum ports on the bottom of this pic get used anymore into the manifold? I think the vertical gold connection goes to the PCV correct?

From Jim C.'s sketch, these three water temp vacuum ports are no longer needed?

Red hose to secondary distributor advance?

What does this port on the carb base plate hook to?

Is this rectangular part on top of the carb still used once desmogged? I has two vacuum ports on it. I also have AC on this truck. Where does the AC high idle connect to. Thx...

3. The gold pipe should be plugged.

EDIT: I see a pic in post #27 where you have installed a delete plate on the manifold below the carb. I did not delete both pipes in that area. One of those pipes is what goes to the PCV. If you have already cut both off and plugged them, then use the gold pipe.
