A year and a half later, let's see if we can get this thing to run at a reasonable temperature. Hoping to take it to Lone Star Landcruiser Roundup this weekend, and I've also got some work for it to do.
Needs:
* Rig up a linkage from the throttle pedal to the weber carb linkage.
* Fix a leaking fuel line between the tank and the hard lines under the cab.
* Helicoil the threads for the bolt that goes up from the exhaust manifold into the intake manifold under the carb.
* Helicoil threads in the webber carb adapter plate.
* Seal up the Fairey overdrive housing so it'll hold some gear oil.
* Same with the transfer case.
* Hubs and knuckles.
* Differential fluid change.

Cool story on picking up the 45. I would suggest doing a compression test, followed by a leak down test with the radiator cap off. You really need to baseline the engine and make sure it is ok.

I drove Ichiro today. Two trips, about 20 miles total, and it didn’t overheat!
If it keeps behaving, I’ll reward it with tires and brakes and maybe the front springs off of a 1973 40. I get why they put an overdrive on this. It seems to be geared very very short.

Sealing up the Fairey Overdrive, and hoping its eventual death won't be catastrophic. Georg tells me they're obsolete and spare parts are unobtanium.

I'm re-employed after six months of "entrepreneurship", and unrelatedly Ichiro has proven to be useful and fun. So, we're investing in some professional surgery at @aljollano 's shop in Cedar Park. Ichiro should be ready for the SAS 9 event that we're not going to make this year (refer to said employment). Oh well, anyway Ichiro should be leak free and skookum for years to come! As a special bonus, Ichiro is getting the transmission and transfer case freshly built by Georg that was slated for Galen's purple 40 "Barney".
