Well, It's been awhile since I posted anything because I haven't made any real progress lately. But, I finally got my frame back from being powder coated. So, now I should be able to start putting this truck back together again. I am very happy with the way it turned out. So far, I have only seen 2 little spots that need a dab of touch up paint on the inside of the frame rail. They really layed that stuff on thick. If it was much thicker, you wouldn't be able to read the VIN.

Deer season has kicked in here in Texas and that has basically been occupying all of my free time. I'll be glad when I finally pull the trigger and can get back to working on the truck. I've got my eyes on this 10 pointer and if he shows up in my neck of the woods, he's a gonner. I'm guessing he's 5 1/2 yrs old or more and ripe for the taking. From these pictures you would think this deer was a pet. But trust me, from the way he acted the 2 momentary glimpses I got of him before the rut started, he didn't get this big and old by being stupid. I snapped these pictures last night on my way home in a neighbors driveway. The rut has definitely got him not thinking right.

This is not exactly Cruiser related, although there are Cruiser parts in the background if you look.

I finally pulled the trigger on this deer this morning and am very relieved that I can stop getting up every single morning at 5:30 AM. (Did I mention that I am Obsessive/Compulsive?) There is a story that goes along with this particular deer and I have learned a lot from studying him over the last year. This is the first deer that I will have ever had mounted.

Not a record book deer by any means, but a trophy in my mind. 23" wide outside spread. I feel confident he would have been much nicer and had kickers off of both of his G2's next year if given the chance, but that is all part of the story.

Please excuse my ugly mug in these pics.

Anyways,................back to the LPB project now.

Oh, any Aggies out there? Whoop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that the same buck thats been roaming around your place?? Congrats on the deer. It'll look great on your wall! Gotta have the cruiser parts in the bed of the truck all the time, just for the photo-op! Now, lets get back to the 45! :)

OK, back to the task at hand. I finally got back to a little work on the truck in the last couple of days and here are some pics to prove it.......

I guess I'm a big old wussy, cause I'd rather stay inside, build a fire, and play with :princess: when it gets this cold. It's been in the 30's to 40's F in the evening lately, but we did get down to 22F one morning. That may not be cold to some of you guys, but ya'll can have that sh!t. I don't think I can justify a heater in the garage, because I am having too much fun otherwise.:flipoff2:

Not the same buck in the previous pics, but I've been watching this deer for some time. This area is known for quantity of deer instead of quality.

It could change at any time, but he is currently winning the (Hill Country Whitetail Low Fence Mens Division) in the local big buck contest. I don't expect him to win, but this is my first time to be in a contest like this and it is sort of interesting.

He's not as big as I thought he was, but he is a nice deer for this area. The taxidermist aged him at 6 1/2 years old. Here are a couple of pictures of some video I took of him back in October......

Just a couple of pics from my progress tonight grinding down the welds from yesterday. I think it looks pretty good. It is pretty time consuming because my air compressor can't keep up with what I want to do, but it works.

A little more progress on my bed side panel last night. I got the welds ground down on the outside then flipped it over and welded up the inside. I got started grinding those welds down and then my grinder pretty much crapped out. That's a shame because I've only had it for about 20 years.

I live in Atlanta, Ga and bc of the construction development the deer have been pushed out of their native habitat and are now using my yard as a grazing zone. bastards. i am in the landscape business and have a pretty heavily LS yard, they are really F'ing it up. I am not a hunter and I have kids, but i wish i could shot the SOB's

I spent some time this weekend cleaning up and painting some of the smaller miscellaneous pieces. It went pretty well but I forgot to take any pictures after I was done painting. The motor mounts were basically new (still had stickers on them) but they needed to be freshened up a little.

Pictures in my spray booth don't turn out so well because the walls are covered with polyurethane overspray for some reason;)

Yeah, I can relate to that. If you plant anything where I live, you better put a wire cage or an electric fence around it if you want it to survive. At some times of the year, they will even eat plants that are normally considered poisonous to them.
