I have been using the Cruiser Corps Pewter spray can. I did the bumperettes with the Duplicolor stainless steel spray can and it is pretty close. Heating the can and shaking a lot helps it lay down better.
I was up in the attic yesterday and found these headlight parts that I had bought a few yeas ago. I forgot I put them up there so it was like Christmas.
Very nice. Maybe you could hang a few pounds on the spring and get the displacement. That would help to define the spring when seeking a replacement. I like Starrett stuff - wish I had more,
Was thinking that may be the case. Grind the A pillars, and drill the spot welds at the back of glove box. How did you handle the top edge with the folded over edge and tons of spot welds? Posted the hacked up 73 dash times. I've had the replacement dash about as long as I owned the 73.
I worked on the heater duct a bit this week. The two I had were faded and a little scratched up. I took my headlight restore kit to the one on the right and got it mostly back to black, wet sanding with 1000 and 3000 grit paper and plastic polish. I need some more paper to finish up.

What are you using for the boot on the heater end? While not original I've thought of trying the 9/73 plus heater duct to see how close they are to each other. Boot is the worst piece in the heater system.
I have an aftermarket boot that I bought a few years ago. The heater openings where the duct connects are not in the same place between the late and earlier heaters. If I recall it sets further out from the firewall on the earlier heaters. Basically, the late long bootless duct will not fit flat on the firewall if used with an earlier heater.
I ordered a new gas tank yesterday. Installed OBA pressure switch and wiring. Finished installing the motor mount spacers I had to use to get the fan to fit in the radiator shroud. And finished installing bottom radiator hoses and tube.
