'71 Dash help

I am going to try and have 12voltguy build me a custom switch panel to mount in the dash where the stock heater controls are, but I don't have access to the pig to measure. The area is just to the right of the radio, mine had the heater controls, F.D. knob, and windshield wiper knob. If anyone has a 55 sitting in their garage and could measure I would be in your debt.

ryan, let me know if you don't get the dimesions you need, I have a 1970 pig project out in the garage, not sure exactly what you need, if you have a reference pic that would help.

I don't have a good photo of the area I need, but in this photo the area I need is just to the left of the stereo. It is the area that houses the heater controls. I have taken all of the knobs and switches out and I am going to use a new switch panel so I just need the opening demensions.

9.5 x 2.5 is what I came up with if you were going to install a flat plate in that area, here are some pics, HTH, Noah

Perfect! Thanks! Might not be big enough. I was hoping to install a 12voltguy black panel there. I will call him tomorrow.

One more question. It is hard to tell from your photos, but is the dash nice smooth metal under the small pad below the stereo? The pad on mine looks pretty rough if I could just pull it of....
