I might be interested in the loop. I'm going to have my 5 and 7 year old boys with me so just a little concerned about them on a day that long.
you will be fine. Plenty of stops. My new toy. Now I'll have two temperamental rigs. Can't wait

Tim will be day 1, I'll sign you up!!!

Go for it. Worst case I'll throw in a DVD if they get cranky.

^^ I bet that exhaust sounds sweet. I may have to come see it on my next trip down to PHX. I'm there for business almost weekly.

I'll find out about the exhaust on Saturday. Picking up in San Diego. Beers in Phoenix sounds good @smakee

Agreed. I've had the M5 for a month now and I've put a TON of cash into it base lining. The S85 is a very finicky power plant, so I wanted to make sure it was healthy. Plugs, filters, oil change, thermostat, coolant, brake fluid flush, trans fluid change, diff fluid change, front rotors and pads, 4 new michelin pilot super sports, wheels refinished, new floor mats, trunk mat, tint, replaced sun beaten badges and side markers. I think that's it. Oh, and a Corsa section 3 exhaust. :hillbilly:

Enough about mine, I'm guessing that e39 is a 540 and I hope it's a 6 speed.

btw, i'm sure many use it already, but if not, check out waze app for highway travel to HIH

Free Community-based Mapping, Traffic & Navigation App

its crowdsourced information, gives you ~gps speed for guys w/ 35s, and has saved me many an hour with appropriate information on detours, construction, etc, etc.

If you are Alpine Loop interested, let me know. Lunch in Lake City and awesome views all day. I saw a bear on this route one year. It's amazing.

Chris, If there is still room can you move me to the Alpine Loop for Friday?

I have used waze. What is phone reception like in the southwest Region of Colorado? Anyone using a radar detector? I used to have one that worked really well, but I let someone borrow it and haven't seen them in years.....:bang:

Safe travels!
Thanks!
Good thing is the faster and heavier the music the more you get done! Thank God for good old heavy metal!
See @dubitup Tool wouldn't work! :rimshot:

I've never had the best luck with phone reception (both Verizon & ATT) through the San Juan Mountains, if I have 2 bars at 4G I am doing pretty well

Cell reception s pretty bad. Verizon seems to work the best, but it's still very spotty. You will have full service on the Telluride side of Black Bear, Imogene and Ophir. You will have very limited to zero service on Alpine, Clear Lake, Super Secret, Poughkeepsie and everything east of Silverton. You will have zero service on the Million Dollar Highway (550) between Ouray and Silverton.

Day 1 Alpine Loop is full. Thanks guys...3-4 more spots available for Saturday are available.
