Day 1 Alpine Loop is full. Thanks guys...3-4 more spots available for Saturday are available.

I'll take Saturday if it's still available. Forget which trails I chose for what days though, and I do want to smash PG.

@paflytyer if I'm loading up the fly case to match the hatch... what's in it? stone, p adams, pheasant bwo, etc? anything else I should add? looking forward to getting a little fishing in on this trip as well

Can you fishing experts recommend a kit for a 6-year old to try his luck or waste his time at the campground? I'm illiterate about fishing. Thanks!

BTW, +1 Beemer club here if 2-wheel counts!

Flies in the area are any of your basic staples. Parachute Adams, BWO, caddis, stims and stones for dries. RS2's, pheasant tails and beadheads for nymphs.

6 years old is pretty young to start fly fishing. I didn't even start teaching my son to cast a fly rod until he was 7 and that was maybe a little too young. It takes some understanding of kinetic energy and "feeling" the rod load and unload.

I will bring a few fly rods and would be happy to help folks out either in camp or at Clear Lake.

Note the other side of my garage....I love the German low and fast ones too :D

I might be interested in the loop. I'm going to have my 5 and 7 year old boys with me so just a little concerned about them on a day that long.

You are correct...well mostly. Don't own the FD anymore, but I miss that car, and kick myself in the butt all the time for selling it. She was in extremely good shape when I let it go, but I swap cars quite often. Ironically, I sold it to pick up an activeautowerks supercharged E46 M3.....since we are talking Das German.

This one is gone now also, but I digress.....I am sure we can find each other around the camp fire and chat motors more in The Hills! BTW I don't mind 2 or 4 wheels, though I am partial to KTM's when it comes to bikes. :)

I had 3 E46 M3's over 6 years, just kept buying them because they were so damn good. I still miss them all.

Ok, so after a whole day going over stuff and trying hard to thin out the load, then somehow cramming what's left in we finally were just too tired to pull an overnight drive so we left early this morning as originally planned! Going through CA ugly desert!:steer:
