ok, starting this thread to help @6foot8

We talked on the phone and he had lots of questions: not sure i can recall everything....

1. seat adjusters broken. usually point folks to gramativi. BUT he is 6'8", so I am telling him to look into putting new seats in and move them back.

cloth seats have more room than leather.

raising the seats ( seat lift kit-via washers) moves is another inch from pedals.

Landtank's seat extensions for sure. One of the guys in my local club, Sean White, is 6'10". The seat extensions made the 80 driveable for him again.

Hey thanks for the thread! Ive got my seats out this afternoon and im working on making an old pair of recaro LXs fit. Ive got e30 adapters on them now.

Think i need to do my birfields too. It makes a clicking sound when i turn right and its getting worse

Have you checked the grease level / condition ?

Nope i havent. Do i need to take them apart or is there a grease fitting?

Take apart birfs and inspect, two options replace them or switch the sides around, if it was me I'd replace
Radio get one you like and get the metro harness it is just as easy it is plug and play besides mating harness to new radio which if you can match wire colors and read and crimp you'll be fine.
Seats I like the cloth way better, but I'm only 5,8. As far as more room idk I don't have that issue, but cloth are manual not power so no plastic gears to break.

hey dude, I'm 6'6". I modified my stock seats (do something in nearly every car I've owned). I lowered the bases, shifted the bases back, extended the seat back up to suit my long torso, built in some lumbar support, and lengthened the seat base for some more leg support.

I also cut and reshaped the brake, clutch and throttle pedals in my current cruiser to create an extra 1 1.2 to 2 inches of leg room. that made a huge difference in comfort without having to move the seat so far back and end up too far away from steering wheel and dash controls.
