She's happy.

Looks good! Must have an 79-82C thermostat or so. That temp is low!! This is good in terms of headroom to overheating. However I found moving to an 88C thermostat I gained a lot of economy (diesels are most efficient around 88C). Something to think about in the future. A number of us are running a Tridon high flow 88C t-stat out of Australia.

Power must be decent to be holding 120. Believe it or not, the motor likes to be in the higher rpms like that. My EGTs are always low around there.

Oil pressure and alternator are as they should be too. My oil pressure tops out at the same. The senders drop their output as they get old, which is why your pressure is reading at the lower end of the spectrum. They can be taken apart and re-adjusted, or just replaced with a new one if it bugs you.

Congrats!!

Thanks man. Just got home. Truck did great. 120-130 seemed to be the sweet spot.

Wont be sweet for long at that speed.

They like that speed. Lots of air, low EGTs, low coolant temp. I go 130-140 in mine sometimes for extended periods. No problem. Get 12l/100km economy at that speed too!

These engines struggle most when they drop out of 3rd gear lock-up on a big hill and into 2nd gear around 60km/h. Thats when they turn into real heat machines.

The truck cruised. Only thing that really held the truck back was our 3rd world country road highways. The truck loved to follow the road imperfections. Just from my limited time with the truck the motor has more go go juice then a 22r or even the 3.slow (3vze). The 3.slow has lots of motor issues also but even then it'll still go 300k miles with an intelligent driver/owner.

Your Prado might be ready for a front axle rebuild. Usually it's the kingpin bearings are beat into an oval shape and cause the truck to really track in ruts. Could also be tie-rods etc.

Sounds like yours has very healthy power.

Yeah, I plan to do a complete front axle build. What oil filter are people using? Just ordering Toyota filters (part number?)? Can a larger filter be used (still factory)?

It's the same filter as used by the 1HDT and 1HZ. I forget the part number at the moment, but it is a large filter and the Toyota ones are top notch quality. Just search and you'll find the part number.

I wish my 2H troopy could do 130-140! Jealous over here...

We're talking km/h not mph...you know that right? :)

These speeds are still pretty quick for a diesel cruiser. I have more pedal left at 140...I'd like to try for 160 km/h someday. On a closed track of course. Mine is not a stock 2LTE.....

Oh, well aware. Mine struggles to get past 110 kmh. And it's a turbo 2H running 1/2 bar of boost. Cruises real comfy at just under 100 though. Haha.
