i got a call from a mate today said he had a present for me, and we rocked up with this...

he had it delivered to his work, but the delivery guys packed it wrong and put a small dent in it, and the shop cannot sell it, so he picked it up and brought it home for me :)

few more rear bar updates
all the holes for d shackles and trailer hitch have been drilled

038.jpg

after some playing around with the trailer hitch fitted, i decided that it needed a little something to take the rattle out of it, so i drilled and tapped though the corner here,

once the hitch is in you, screw this down to take the movement out of the hitch, after i did all this and welded it in place, i realized that it was too close to the pin to work effectively

so out come the grinder cut it off and moved it forward a little.

this hole was actually drilled by my girlfriend, first time using a drill press :)

she was stoked with it

i got the side plates tacked up today, they are short then i originally designed which now makes the side profile not as nice as i would like :mad::frown::crybaby:
im hoping that once the flair gets fitted it will break it up a bit

here are some side shots, il take some better ones during daylight hours

hey, its been a awhile but im back,
i have some news that some of you may find horrific :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:!!!
i have sprung back under. i know he look soo good as a bit tall beast, but, with a change of plans to my other car Suzuki sierra (samurai) i need bob to be a tow rig now.

head up on the zook build, 1.3L, straight LPG (propane), front 60 diffs with 4.88's front and rear :D:D:D, 4sp vitara (sidekick) auto, etc etc etc

il post up some more pix of bob soon for you all

- Pyro

Looks good, I'd sometimes like to be able to get stuck into the fab work side of things, I have ideas sometimes but they never happen cause I don't have the skills in that area.

And you're not just from Australia, but Newy aswell! Might have to meet up for a chat and look at each others rides sometime, compare ideas and the like.

Got these delivered today, not too bad for $100 including shipping from Queensland (intestate) not bad for $25 each

all splines are nice and straight, CVs are click free :) stoked:bounce:

please ignore the fact i have used the tailgate as a workbench for cutting timber and the air con in the back...lol

ok here is Bob SUA

as for legalities of SOA, we can get them passed my an Automotive engineer, but that doesnt mean that its legal, it just means that the mods have been done in a safe manor.

my old 62 (the white one at the start of this thread, had an engineers report that had SOA, 2" body lift, 2" wheel spacers and 37x12.5 on an 15x8" rim listed on it, now in Aus, you CAN NOT run wheel spacers on road. so although this car was engineered it can still be classed as illegal/unroadworthy etc.
also it is getting harder to find an engineer who will pass anything more then 50mm TOTAL lift, that includes springs, body lift and tyre

so with all this combined, i have sprung bob back under, also there isnt really a need to have my DD/tow rig SOA
