More info please... Are you a 60 owner again, or did you just stumble across an old friend?

As you know, 60s and their owners represent all that is truly good and right in the world.

Thread Topical; Windshield (Low) Tech: Had my first opportunity to trade with Onur today on some OEM weatherstrip with the chrome inset channel (my otherwise clean 60 needs some new glass). I'm keeping the chrome insert because I'm anal that way, like shiny things and want it match. The head guy at Venable in Ridgeland is going to do the install and they are going to try and salvage the chrome insert once I bring them the weatherstip. If they booger it up (likely) I'll live without it for a little while or splurge for a new inset.

Shopping List for upcoming projects on my 60:

* Knuckle kit with wheel bearings
* New muffler and exhaust
* New Stereo and Speakers
* The balance of a lift kit (shackles, shocks, etc..) to pair with the OME springs I bought from Rob.
* Steering Box service (potentially reseal or replace).
* Overhaul of cooling system (possibly new radiator, fan clutch, etc..).
* New ignition/key barrel, because you have to say nice things to my key to get it to cooperate (I know you can hit it with a mallet to get it unstuck, but see anal comment above).

That should keep me busy for awhile. As I get to it, I'll post it up.

I bought this truck from a club member bone stock in 2009. Built the crap out of it (I'll link the treads when I find them) and then sold it when I got a chance at another superbly built and friend owned 80 series.

The guy had it 5 years. Spent $1000 on a rear brake rebuild and a battery and put a whopping 1800 miles on it.

It's a bit worse for wear in the exterior from sitting outside unused for 5 years but I can bring it back I think.

Last inspection was 2011, tag 2012

It drives and runs great.

Anyone remember why I have 6 tires? One in stock location.

I have every Receipt from 1984 too. So cool.

Very Cool. I thought I recognized that rig.

P.S. Although this rig was noticed and generally known to local cruiser dorks like me, I'm not some creeper that knows your past life and vehicles (some of the guys at the last meeting, my first, were talking about your 60 and mentioned that kept surfacing in magazines).

Now that you own it again, maybe you can get some ad royalties

That is funny. That picture of it in front of the sign is Hot Springs is highly ripped off. You can see that one is from it because of the tilted light. That light was tilted because I was driving it through 4' of water.

Was that in Toyota Trails? I may have told them it was OK.....Todd may have just used it. Who knows.

How much for the windshield parts and gaskets? Installation? I need one.

$210 was the original quote for the glass plate installed, until I showed up and they realized it was going to be tricky when I said "don't butcher the chrome piece if you can help it"). Since then, 100-ish for the OEM weatherstrip. shipped (MUD discount); and the glass shop quoted me 115 for the chrome, but I can probably do better from some of our friends on here. I'm sure they will throw some extra labor from the original quote (PITA surcharge), but I drive mine to and from work most days and so want it to pass inspection. Also, it's new to me and I have this horrible desire to throw money at it.

For what it's worth, Venable has been really great. They were very careful with it; called me before just tearing into it; tried to help me locate parts, and had their shop foreman handle it (and call me several times). I have been very impressed.

And, yes, the pic was in Toyota Trails.

CONGRATS! Which I'd fixed them brakes.

I non ethanol fuel all day by my house and the 62 and 100 only gets it. It is nice.

Great pickup. Isn't that the truck that got flooded also..year ago.

Trade you a 62 for it. Kids would do great driving the 62 to school in a few years.

Yeah. The guy I got it from dropped it in the Ross Barnett Reservoir. That was about 8 years ago.

It's pretty rusty but solid. The only thing I can see so far is that the paint and pimp aluminum ARB rack are both pissed about sitting in the sun and rain for 5 years.
