One thing I really love about this truck is the the interior is so good all the way down to the analog radio. Everything works.

Last poser shot of the day.

Man that's clean. Is the dash pad original or one of those caps?

I had the original radio and practically gave it away. A liitle while later they were selling on eBay for $150.

Just gave the mighty 2F a fresh drink of 30w and a quart of Lucas.

Purrs like a tractor. Which it is. Officially.

I need to get some Freon. Can you still get it Chris?

Going under to grease Ujoints.

got it.

Why did 60s sit on the lot so long?

When do I come pick up my new 100?

Excellent turd polishing

McQuires Clean in an orbital for the hood. I did the rest by hand. Mostly turtle compound

60's sat because the same reason the 70 series was never brought to the US.

Not Americanized. That is why the 80 and 100 series blew out sales. Leather and Cupholders.

Back then ALL cruisers waved to each other because they were so rare.

Rule-breaking must run in my family - my dad was at the dealership when ours rolled in on the transporter. He claimed it before it even got off-loaded. The only sitting it did was on the boat ride over.

He started looking at 60's when his Cherokee rolled after getting t-boned at an interaction. He wanted something a little sturdier. He brought a demo home for a test drive and we all thought it was the ugliest thing in the world - until we climbed in a went for a drive. Even us kids could tell it was much heavier duty than the Jeep. We thought it was some kind of military truck it was so spartan inside.

I noticed your manual had a (40?) on the cover. I guess '85 is when the non-wagon North American option switched to the BJ70.

I think they put bigger tires on the illustration than came on the truck!

I got an 84 mini extra cab for my 15 birthday in 84 (I know....spoiled). Anyway, there was always 1 Cruiser in the lot in Jackson. It was 2x more thAn my truck. I was a mud rider so I always laughed at Cruisers.

1984 was the last year if the FJ-40 in the US. That's cool yours is different

Speaking of hot blondes :grinpimp: ...

... there was a hot blonde high-school to college age girl (we were maybe ten at the time) on our street that had a black mini truck JUST LIKE the one in Back To The Future. Exactly. Between her and the truck, every male kid (and probably male adult) just stared slack-jawed when she drove past.

@wngrog Thanks brotha :cheers:

Hey @wct49 , remember this guy?

It was out of date when you sold it to me in '07. It can finally retire. Unless somebody wants to buy it:grinpimp:
