I'm a little embarrassed that I'm double dipping on posting this photo here as well as on my build site. But it's a nice photo I shot yesterday as kind of an official restoration completion mark. I've long admired the photos all of you post on this thread, so my thought is, now that the biggest obstacle to going on adventures (auto transmission heat) has been overcome, I can go out and actually go to great places and have the occasional photo to post here...like you guys.

Cool. BB is cool, just no wheeling out there. Saw the most amazing night time thunderstorm out there years ago. Sudden torrential rain in the desert night, complete darkness interrupted by a continuous lightning strobe that lit up every detail in the desert. We had just finished a 15+ mile hike up in The Basin, South rim and Emory peak. Exhausted and filthy the storm hit while setting up camp at the trucks. My buddy learned a bad lesson setting up a tent in a "dry" wash area. Watched the storm in the back of the 62. Awesome night.

Depends on your definition of “wheeling”

To me, the ability to ride the 1-2 rated gravel, dirt, sand and rock roads deep into the backcountry is wheeling enough and worth me driving 1000 miles in an old 4x4 to experience it.

.......lol, and the ability to avoid pinstriping your rig too badly....that takes skill.

Snow is routine for many of you...but not us down here. Quite the peculiar winter wonderland when cacti and such are covered. It snowed steadily for seven hours (beginning at about 0700), took a break for three and is continuing this evening for a while. Nearby Mount Lemmon had 38" as of this morning...and I'm sure it snowed all day there, too. That highway is closed even to residents today.
