Dude it’s got to be one of the more interesting films available right now outside of the small niche film stock. The day photos were great too
Tangent/Rant...

Cinestill 800T is something I very much want to use, I love shooting low-light, indoor stuff, and I'm very interested in using it outdoors during the day so that I have more flexibility with aperture. But them defending "800" as a trademark makes them the Metallica of the film world: while technically correct, they're losing the hearts of customers.

There's another, even more accurate example, in the guitar world. Rickenbacker will file lawsuits and/or send cease & desist letters to individuals selling used guitars on eBay and other platforms. These guitars are 1970s Japanese-made copies of Rickenbacker guitars. They've been out in the world for 50+ years already. They are not suing the companies that made these guitars, at least one of which is still in business, and they aren't suing anybody at the time of the actual trademark violation (some of their guitar shapes and features are trademarked), they're going after Joe Blow guitar dude who's hocking his 50 year old beat up cheapo guitar on eBay. Perhaps they have a case, but even so they come across as majorly pretentious prick$. If you know anything about guitars, then you know Rickenbacker's leadership are 100% pretentious prick$ though haha. I still own one, nothing does what a Ric does.

...so maybe I should just buy the Cinestill!

Hahahaha well, with how Kodak changed their cinema film distribution rights, cinestill might not exist after a few years. Its kinda in limbo right now. Theres a few other tungsten balanced cinema films out there but the Cinestill is the only one with direct licensing from Kodak to respool the cinema film. Im actively watching it to see whether or not i need to hoard rolls of it or not hahaha

The cinestill does really well indoors and low light outdoors at 800 ISO. When you shoot in the daytime make sure you meter at or set your camera at 400 iso. The daytime photos are excellent with it!

Yep, I could push/pull with 800. Low Light, More flexibility with aperture. I also love grain. 800 has always seemed like such a flexible film speed to me, but it's nearly impossible to find other that the Cinestill. Lomo had some 800 a while back but it was that "pre-filter" look stuff, everything had a greenish-blue haze to it. Fun for one roll, not great for everyday shooting. I'll still blow through rolls of Kodak Gold 200 and that's fine, but the look and flexibility of 800 is just right in the sweet spot for me.

Haven't tried the Cinestill as of yet, I'll probably give it a shot now though! I usually am shooting Kodak Gold 200 or Fuji 200 and am still getting back into the swing of things with film photography. Shot these over the 4th of July weekend with Kodak Gold 200. Wish the cruiser was a little brighter in the 1st one but it's got a cool look to it.

You could always pay for 2 rolls of film and receive one roll and get Kodak Portra 800 hahaha. I have a few rolls that i dont want to waste so i never shoot them. They just sit

dude those look great, the first pic is tough because if you woulda metered for the truck and foreground, the sky woulda been completely blown out. At least how you have it, you can still have both in the image clearly.

I love Kodak gold. I shoot Fuji 200/400 the most out of anything because its the easiest for me toget my hands on and doesnt cost an arm and a leg like other films do.

If you try the cinestill, try and get any kind of neon or any kind of man made lights in there. Street lights, stop lights, vehicle tail lights etc. And try and meter for the lights and they will all have that awesome glow from the halation from the film. Such a cool look!
