anyone have any ideas on aftermarket mud flaps for a sixty series. With 70 series fit? Will later model Taco flaps fit?

I know some have been made, that are bolt-on, but I've never seen them available in the States.... But then again, I haven't looked for them, either.

I doubt anything will really fit the profile of the fender, so you're left with using flat mud flaps just to protect the body behind the flap.
First-gen 4Runner front mud flaps are large, flat, and say 'Toyota' at the bottom. I put a set on the rear of my Ford F350, and I get some unusual looks from folks.

I need some fronts, but really don't feel like spending 100 per flap when I could buy Euro Mirrors for that kind of coin

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm afteafter a set of these as well. Really curious to know what other options there are for non genuine mud flaps.
I think the rear stock flaps are pretty ineffective anywhere outside of suburban Los Angeles. They seemed designed to actually direct mud and slush into the rear quarters to create horrendous rust issues. This is not helped by the bad design of the rear part of the wheel well, which is open to the rear quarter. I built sheet metal over the rear gap and used pretty generic flat rubber truck flaps. Not pretty, but they actually work the way flaps are supposed to...
Looks be dammed!

Something I learned about the stock flaps...they dont like trail driving much. Around here we have lots of mountains and because we get a lot of rain many of the trails are built with what we call "Water Bars". Basically a swath cut across the trail to direct water off to the side and reduce erosion....lots of fun to jump on a dirt bike but a little tedious in an FJ60...some are quite big and a real test of entry and exit angles. In those big ones its not too hard to bend the stock mud flaps at their mounting locations

fitment guide says they go, looks like they may have a brace in the back, tho hard plastic. says same size #6 fits front or rear. 25 bucks a pair.

I like the idea of creating a drawing file and 3D printing a set. This would allow a high degree of customization for things like sliders and fender flares and solve a lot of rust issues. Another question has anyone built fender liners? A set all around would really help with rust

I wouldn't go 3D printing rout. You cant actually print rubber, they have TPU 95 which is a rubber like plastic but it is expensive. Now if you could get someone to CNC down some rubber or laser cut some flat sheets that might be an idea.
Make a 3D printed model and then make a mold. You could pour a rubber/poly set in an afternoon. It would be expensive for a single set but once you have the molds you could crank them out to order or make more mold sets. I don’t have access to a 3D printer so I couldn’t do it myself. I’ve thought about it though...
With the size of the flaps you will probably have to send it out to get it printed. Ive also been playing around with the idea of just layering rubber together to get the shape. Really its just a flat rubber sheet with some curves near the top to cover the metal. If you broke it into layers and just made cutters for each layer you could use the same technique they do to re-tread tires and you would have a decent mudflap. The whole mold thing might just be overkill for a simple shape.
