55 hinge pin repair

Theoretically it should work on all hinges of the Land Cruiser type, at least the concept will. Sizes might be slightly different, I haven't looked at an FJ45LV hinge though.

Backside Pic Of Lower Hinges:

Can somebody post a pic of the REAR of how the lower hinge assembly fits together? Thanks :beer: The one on the left, BTW ;p

About 5 or 6 years ago I replaced my door pins and bushings with 5/16" bolts with locknuts, and made bushings out of electrical heat-shrink tubing. Everything is still tight. I do like the idea of brass or bronze bushings though.
 
I pulled all of my hinges apart, sandblasted, and painted them. I am now in the process of finalizing a design for greasable pins for them, a total of 8 main pins, 4 intermediate and 4 small pins for the spring-equipped hinges, so that makes 16 total. I have access to a full machine shop in between my manufacturing classes, so I'm set :cool: I'll post updates on the design plans and pictures when they are finished.
