Sam (@elkaholic) took time out of his weekend to travel to Windrock and scout some new trails. :)
Sam didn't pick this trail by accident. In the back of his ATV is several thin twigs along with a large bag of marshmallows. :)

Gonna be an expensive trip for me. Got in a minor fender bender on the way here and will have some repairs to my truck and fifth wheel hitch before Sept.

That aside I am excited about the route to the eternal flame that Chas posted above

@HomerOz figure out how to get over here and I’ll be a passenger in my own rig !

We likely don’t have anything similar to your wheelin but I can share some scenery and history here ....

For those of you that prefer the more difficult trails, we'll have that covered also. :)

Went up this one yesterday. Looks more than a bit different now.

G'Day Fella's,

Elkaholic, thank you for your kind offer, very much appreciated.
I have a bit on at present but would love to take you up on your generous offer, some time in the future.
Going on your handle here Cobber, I'd say we have quite a bit in common.
Apart from that, I always enjoy seeing new and different scenery.

Regards
Homer

Okay guys the event is slightly more than one month away. If you're in the "maybe" category I hope you'll be able to clear your calendar and join us in the "definitely attending" category. :)
This should easily be one the largest gathering of 70 Series Land Cruisers in the U.S. on an annual basis.

The rig in the background of that pic will be there. Working on getting the one in the foreground there too.

Tempting , Google maps says 15 hours from Austin, add 3-4 more since I'll be going 65 MPH and no A/C ...hmmmm

Just do like the rest of us and swallow a handful of Advil's and hit the road. :)
We would glad to have you join us.

I worked with an Exile of OZ for a few years so, despite being born and raised in the US South, I do understand ....

We do this thing every year and even if I am not able to accommodate the offer in future years I am sure others here could.

If you gather I am addicted to elk hunting ... you are right. Though my addiction is the worst kind .... I am able to scratch that itch only every other year at best ...

Are people running GMRS or CB for comms?

Others will hopefully chime in but I'm planning to bring my HAM handheld.

This group for the most parts does not have comms :-( Last year I brough my 4 GMRS radios and we kinda used them.

yeah, I have 3 GMRS radios ill bring, tuning CBs can be a pain and HAM require a license I don't have the urge to get right now.

G'Day Fella's,

Good to hear Sam, that you understand me.

Thank You for your generous offer, as it would be an absolute blast to get away bush, with a bunch of other great people, with similar "Like's", eg; Freedom, 4WDing, Camping, Huntin, Fishin and Shootin, etc.

I've also been hunting for all of my adult life.
And I have been lucky enough to have hunted and fished over most South Pacific.
I would also like to hunt North America, in particular (next?), on Kodiak Island................

Avagreatweekendeh!
