4runner oem vs fj80 oem not the same?

But they look the same.... What am I missing here?

I'm guessing the backspacing is different. But that's only a guess.

yeah I even tried installing the 4runner rims on an FJ60's front.... Did not fit. Calipers touch...

The IFS rims will have more backspacing than the solid axle rims.... whether minitruck or Cruiser...

I knew there was a reason the SR5 wheels i just put on my first gen stuck out more than the last set i had...must be 2 different models

just put some 96 FZJ80 wheels on my 87 IFS 4runner. IIRC, the 80 wheels have about .5 to .75 inches less backspacing, thus making them stick out a bit further on the runner.

ill take a pic for you guys tomorrow i gotta deal with an e-break issue and i have solid axle rims on the truck and a spare ifs rim with identical tire sizes on em ..... ill drop it on so you can see the difference
