she pretty. write the check.

I just don't see the point of beating someone down 10-20%. That's substantial to a seller and for a buyer, petty.

I'm not the buyer, haven't seen the truck, and I don't know what's gonna happen with the sale.

That said, if I were a buyer and based on legitimate comps felt a vehicle was priced too high, I wouldn't hesitate to make a lower offer. I don't see that as beating anyone down. Easy enough for a seller to say "No thanks, go pound sand."

Yeah, I get that but pricing is so subjective in this case, if you feel it's worth 8-9 and buyer wants 10 then don't lose the sale over 10%

Market worth? What's that? There is no NADA to go buy. Being local and having those records is worth 10%+ IMO.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out. My neighbor, the prospective buyer, is a deep pockets single guy who can easily pay twice the asking price if he feels like it.

No argument here, and if he likes the truck he'd be stupid to hang up over a 10% difference.

Actually there is a NADA Classic Car Guide, but it's not always helpful with 40's that have been heavily modified. According to the guide, $10K would appear to be reasonable.

I'm not a business guy, I'm a science guy, but I thought the market value of anything was the price a willing buyer pays a willing seller. I guess we'll know the market value of that 40 whenever it sells. FWIW, he's been trying to sell it locally at $10K for several months prior to the ebay listing, without success. Based on that alone, I doubt it's a $10K truck.

BTW, Convict Hill Imperial Oatmeal Stout is helping me analyze this complicated situation. Highly recommended...

Sold this afternoon for $8K, and not to my neighbor. He didn't get there in time.

that stinks....but it answers our questions.....I think it was worth $9k and I agree with Nolen I'd pay more to have it local and have full records on it....but im not actually cutting a check so that's easy to say.

so is it atleast a cruiser head or new convert?

No idea who bought it John. The seller told my neighbor he was tired of looking at it and just wanted it gone. Apparently it sold to the first person who showed up with a serious offer.

Wow.... Crazy Lee! Cash says it all

I will likely be in north MS the week if July 16 - 20. New Albany is on the schedule. If anyone needs a lift from Hell Creek, I could pick it up to help you avoid around $90 in shipping. Let me know.

This kind of stuff will keep you up at night.

Absolutely. It'll haunt you for years, if you blow a deal over a few measly bucks. Or so I've heard.
