New fuel pump too

New fuel pump too

I'm just suggesting that it's worth eyeballing the fuel pump to see if it's spewing oil. Mine was new as well, an OEM Kyosan that lasted less than 2 months.

Can't wait for the book!

I know someone who could ghost-write it for you.

:D

This is the place in the story where a car load of off-duty Hooters waitresses with a cooler of Hopgasm IPA show up and ask if Mike needs assistance...or a place to spend the night. He hesitates, thinks it over, and .... :hhmm:....:smokin:

No, clutchwill not leak oil.(thanks Jordan) What I was concerned with was a rear seal leaking onto the clutch disc causing it to slip. If it was leaking badly there I was worried about Mike getting home with the truck.

Looks like you get to spend some time getting to know your new truck.

I didn't think you did fiction Lee....

Well it would not even turn over at the YJ. The owner, B Tolleson, jumped me off. Had to stay hooked up for 5 minutes to get it to turn over then started easily.

After that when driving the motor was weak even when just cruising. Was thinking battery might be so discharged it was not getting good spark, but not sure. It just wasn't running right.

When I got home I put it where I wanted it, turned it off and the restarted it right up with ease. ????

Not yet, but I'm always willing to expand my horizons.

I just wish I'd known about the black hookers before coming up with that imaginary scene. Way better story possibilities with hookers than a carload of whitebread Hooters chicks. :grinpimp:

Back on topic, what's the verdict on the ailing 40? It sounds like there's more than one issue.

I think carb needs a tweak, timing is off, and some queertron thing going on.

I'm going to take it to mechanic and get a good tune up. I think that is a good place to start.

John has mentioned some of these in past threads, so they are no surprise.

Oil leak is a little worse than mentioned but I think that was caused by being driven for more than 15 minutes to store when weather is nice That might be fixed with Lucas and a heavier wt oil.

I'm happy with purchase. Kids and wife like it and it got me home after going 320 miles. Wish I could of got it for 2k cheaper. :)

I bet John didn't drive it 300 miles a year.

Rear main seal. Hell all land cruisers leak oil!

Well, got the ARB, longfields, asin hubs and the inners and hub gears came today. Gotta get to work!
