Hot Damn
Yeah John I am going to take my springs (skyjacker) off and clean and paint. I listened to the creaking and squeeking for 6 straight days in Moab! Can't handle it any more. I will split the cost of the paint if you want to do that.

Except for the wheels that is a nice 40.

My 40 is an '82 so already has Mr. T's OEM electronic ignition. If it didn't, I'd slap in a DUI setup without hesitation. One of our local guys has it in his '77 and it performs flawlessly. It made a remarkable difference in starting and performance (to the extent that a stock 2F has performance). You can buy direct, and IIRC Man-A-Fre also sells them. And probably many other vendors.

I like what I have read about performance and the fact they are in memphrica......has anyone used their dizzy AND a man a fre....for comparisons sake? I don't think an oem is the way to go due to points and I love the one wire clean look of the DUI
thoughts, comparisons of types yall have run are greatly appreciated.....fyi ive got the original 2f, 38 webber and a new factory starter
I read several threads that alluded to the fact Man a Fre had a seperate in house/generic version....if no then disregard!
You may be correct, but I don't see it listed in their online catalog. When I spoke to Steve at MAF a couple of years ago he said their DUI units came from Performance. I thought DUI was a trademarked name owned by Performance. MAF could have introduced a generic version in the interim.
edit: You are correct. Now there's a MAF "Lightning Strike" HEI ignition, which must be the generic version you mentioned. They're still selling Performance's DUI ignitions as well.
Have seen several rigs running the DUI and all have loved it.
