Nolan...I am strongly leaning towards the Aisin and an HEI dizzy. I think I will get a CLC guy to watch over my shoulder so I can learn more and Jeff said Myron is pretty busy (hear Jeff had to call a favor in to get Lash's junk done)

Should I send me Aisin to Jim C for tuning and any parts it's missing, get a DUI, get the Aisin air cleaner and throw that junk on and keep the Webber as a spare/sale that sheeeet?

Anything Chinese is against my religion

says Walmart about Target

true BUT I will shop target when forced to but refuse to go into Wally World (ironically I love Sam's Club!!)

everybody has brands they like.....Aisin came on it so........

factory dizzy and aisin?

does this crappy phone camera pic show enough for yall to tell if the dizzy is original? the springs and moving parts work but seem to give resistance more than I would think they should.....due to grim and dirt....this pic is AFTER blowing compressed air in the compartment

here is my aisin....like I said it has no signs of being ever bolted on. PO said he bought it new from one of the LC suppliers......what else besides air cleaner is it missing?

any 40 guys have a pic of one installed? esp the linkage for throttle and choke?

JimC is awesome. Mark and Jim are the best at this. Mark is a bit faster and a friend. I get my dizzy's and emissions caps from Jim. I would use Jim for anything PLUS you can email him and Algazy makes you call :)?

I've been told that Mark is better on old AISIN carbs and JimC better on newer ones, but don't know that there's anything to that story. I have great respect for both of them. I've found Jim easier to communicate with, and more predictable on turnaround time but wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of them for anything.

Algazy say the chinese carbs are total garbage.
Parker put one on the 40 that Pat bought and it works very well, so well that he bought another one for his 60. No personal experience, and I'm sure Mark has a sound basis for his opinion.

I would take Cruiser and Aisin carb to Myron and get him to bolt that **** up for you.

As Butch would say, x a bazillion.

does Myron work on any carb? I think I can gather all the parts for it and maybe beg him to bolt it on/tune it right?

I don't think I need to send the new Aisin off to Jim or Mark if I can get Myron to tell me what parts it may be missing.

I know im beating up the 40 thread with carb/dizzy post but I appreciate the help!!!!

priorities:

1. new dizzy so it will run ( I think i have torn/fried wires to it and that's why cruiser wont start, just turn over...no fire)
2. limp to Myron's for a carb fix
3. continue fixing wiring
4. front end rebuild (new shackles enroute.....need to get kit from orangefj45 for front end job)

I had just emailed Jim......thanks Nolan. trying him first as I can send the pics of my Aisin and webber for his viewing pleasure.

just dug through my emails from PO. yall wont believe this... This Aisin is from Mark and is a rebuild so I will see if I can bolt it on. I was putting up christmas stuff and put the air cleaner in the attic with the doors. I just opened it and found, per PO, all Marks goodies from rebuild kit....I have an Aisin with all the stuff ready to bolt on!!!!

ALSO.......kept trouble shooting the dizzy and found a wire that was rusted through slightly pulling on it broke it free....explains why I had no fire so now I have a new carb with all the goods and an answer to the dizzy questions.....HUGE for me as I was crying looking at $800 plus to fix it....I still can't believe I got this truck so cheap with all this stuff.

That's a major score. You must have been livin' right. :D:cheers:

I'm pumped. All I need is a choke cable for carb install and a wire for dizzy and I should be good.....other than working through FSM and mud pics for carb install!

edit....after talking to Lash I also need the cable from skinny pedal to carb....but the firewall "boot" is hooked to the pedal and works when actuated from the engine side of firewall

Hell Creek? What's the verdict for those that have it?

I am wanting to shift down to a 2.5 Hell creek kit when the time comes and am gathering info.

My 4inch skyjacker is riding super rough and is rusted/ plain worn out. I'm thinking of replacing the entire suspension (stabilizer, shocks, springs, U bolts, etc.). I have new shackles im about to put on so the kit would completely redo my ride quality and height.

Remember I am building towards a weekend warrior, stockish look, drive to work 3 times a week kind of rig.
