Cool stocker I saw in carpool at MRA

That should be the brake fluid level sensor if it isn't the parking brake . You could try unplugging it and see if it goes off.

This is what I was going to say. IIRC, I read somewhere that the light is connected to 2 different sources, 1 being the fluid level sensor, and the other to something else. Try disconnecting the 2 sensor wires from the bottom of the master cylinder, and see if that makes them turn off. Then you could at least narrow things down.

On that year 40 it shouldn't be related to the fluid level. It should only come on if the brake pedal is pressed or the parking brake is set. If it's staying on all the time I'd unplug the parking brake switch.

Mine is unplugged and I can't remember how many times I've taken off with PB still set.

Just needs adjusting.

Jeff...adjusting how?

I think there's a little switch under the dash that is engaged when the pedal is all the way up, and dis-engaged when you push the pedal. If I remember correctly there is adjustment for the pedal height that has an effect on that switch.

Thx man.

EBrake is messed up again also, won't disengage. Gotta deal with that now too.

She is an ornery b*tch...

Ok weird stuff here...

The other day when I pulled in garage the 40 was so sluggish from the ebrake being stuck engaged it would barely move. I got out and put it in neutral and couldn't push it at all. Adjusted the bolt on the drum, both ways, zero results. Drum was scorching hot to the touch. Figured I had to dig in so I left it alone.

Was out there tonight and on a whim tried to roll the 40, and it moved effortlessly. Almost rolled it into the garage door.

What gives???

Things swell when they get hot. You just need to back it off a little and try it again.

It feels like that's the issue Bossman but I've rebuilt it and it tried adjusting it every way possible. Maybe (probably) I have something wrong in the drum? For some reason no matter what I do to the bolt it makes no difference in brake grip.
