I am perplexed why you bought this 40.. You are always telling us to buy something finished, or don't waiste time and money on fixing /building a 4x4, buy one thats done. then you buy this scrap. the body on the black mud truck 40 was in better shape.

I am not knocking it by any means i am just concerned you are losing it. : P

but seriously what did you see in it?

I may be down by 49 tire as well. need a inspection sticker as well.
 
Because I don't have to waste any money to do what I want to do with it....drive it down the road and tinker with it.


To me, one is more valuable to have a running 2F a solid drivetrain than body. If I want to fix the body up at some point, I am looking at less than $1000 in new metal and some paint.......

This thing will never see rocks with me driving it. Hopefully I can sell the parts I am taking off and can keep it for a few months.

Make sure you are getting a temp reading. The gas gauge powers the temp gauge so if it is shot it may cause the temp gauge not to work. Mine did this and I fixed by replacing them with used gauges.

If you find the wipers let me know. I need some and one driver side full blade.

It is likely the sending unit or the float itself as mine moves up to 1/4 when the engine is turned on. Also, my temp gauge works fine.

I have always ordered my wipers. If I end up ordering some, I will let you know.

There is no good BBQ anywhere in MS. :D

I'm going down before lunch. At Dr now for check up then headed out.

That has not manifested itself yet. Actually getting a physical to make my dad.....Todd Kaderabek happy. He thinks all these burgers are gonna kill me.
 
Speedo is 5mph slow. Got it up to 70 indicated. Cat's ass....

Willing to make a very good deal on it. Tempted to remove the 8274-50 winch and drop down tail to sell individually or just keep and sell the rig for less $$$

This is a seasoned trail rig. Many would call it ugly, but has lots of good parts on it. Body has trail dings, but does not have rust holes.

Just got back from a 150 miles on the 40. The springs are loosing up a bit and the 30# in the tires helped a ton. It was great going to the gym and Flowood this morning but HOT AS HELL going to 49 Tire and home.

I put 17 gallons of good fuel in it in Canton and some more stabilizer. There is a bit of a stutter in the throttle but overall, it runs great. I will change the fuel filter and check for crack vacuum hoses later.

I got it up to 75 on the speedo coming home. That is a bit over 80. 3.70's make it purr nicely at that speed. Stable.

^ awesome.....welcome back to the 40 family?....give it a few weeks and it'll be cool (more fun) to drive.
