Nice! Evrabody gettin 40s.

What is the story behind it? When you upgrade the tires/wheels let me know. Hell let me know if you get rid of any of the parts.

This FJ-40's Cottonland pledge name is officially known as ...............................

Basketcase

1981 FJ-40, bone stock, mostly unmolested by humans but radically violated by the rust bug.

Looks like it was "born" in Colorado, went to Wyoming, then to Mississippi. Jackass in Wyoming rhino-lined the truck, inside and out from the top of the tub down.

Everywhere there is bare metal, it is in perfect condition.....firewall, hood, hard top, doors (except very bottom on fronts) and the amby doors......all in great shape.

Front fenders, rockers, rear fenders, footwells, 100% roached out as bad as any Cruiser I have ever seen....maybe the worst case I have ever seen.

Mechanically, I give it a 9 out of 10. 124,000 miles. Solid. Runs great. Gas has been in tank about 4 years. I am going to stabilize it and run it out. Not going to deal with the mess of draining it.

Immediate plans are to pull the doors off, top and drive it a bit.

Unmolested 30 year old motor......

100% not happening. For the price of a new tub shipped to MS there are 10 for sale ready to go.

New fenders, aluminum cover-up, peel out is likely the best plan

Ask Jrob how smart it is to start at this point and make a trail rig out of it......

Not happening.

You are correct sir, NOT Smart!!!:bang:. Hind sight is 20/20...... It is alot of fun tho. :)

It has been fun reliving all the crap at one time through you....

I really, really like where your truck is right now. I hope you keep it like it is for the most part and when you want to take the next big step, you get a full-on bad ass buggy/Cruiser.

I know exactly where it is when you are ready to peel off the Frankins for it :D

Yep. You are my inspiration.

I wouldnt say inspiration but ...... ill take it.

I have to get some diamond plate/aluminum to cover above both running boards where I ground off all that bondo to get to/treat the cancer...it's only bad on the passenger side, but ill have to do both sides to get them to match.....maybe we can have a drilling/rivet session

drink beer and cover up the mistakes:bang:

Sweet square bezel. Where oh where did you find it?

I feel like Rodney Dangerfield.

I agree. It wasn't a real find.
