Info on the 74 question. Some of the early 74's were 3 speed so the 4 speed is probably correct. The 74 was the only year it had a little different motor. It was an F bottom end with a 2F head (different oiling system). The 74 also had a 3 speed transfer case (only year for that as well). I had one with this configuration and loved it!

What year is your rig again? I have a really solid early 70's tub I have been hoarding for years. I'm never going to get to it....
 
I have a 1976 rusted tub. I would need rocker panels, rear quarter panels, rear door sills and some of the floor board. Only part in ok shape is the upper area that hardtop sits on and some of the bed area.

Bodean I am a dumbass, school me on three speed transfer case. That truck I posted earlier already has somebody looking at it. Will probably be sold by weekednd.

"Three speed transfer case" simply means the transfer case that was original behind the three speed transmission. It is slightly lower geared than the later models that came behind the 4 speeds.

We all like instant gratification so that is why I have not started a build thread, this machine is a "Hienz 57", with stuff from my favorite years, '77 frame and drive trian, Aqualu tub, 75 top with pre 74 lift hatch, 91 TPI engine, Aussie full float rear, Mojave springs, Corbeau seats, just for a few details.

That looks awesome! Great color too:). Are your springs really arched on the rear? I have Mojave springs and the rear have lots of arch. Look back a page or 2 on this thread and you can see what I am talkin about.

Yes, mine have lots of arch. I even called Dave Gore, lcwizard, and talked to him. he says with the added weight of the top and time the springs will settle. I hope so.

Can that back tire flex forward into the sheet metal or only down and back from there Gary/Todd? Just wondering why I see the fender trimmed in different ways.

Down and back according to Dave, my concern was the same. I will see how it changes once the top is on, this weekend is the plan.
