Just got back from the shop. Files are all created and look good. They are going to cut a piece of everything, make bends and then we will be good to go if all works well. Hope to have everything narrowed down and a full kit cost breakdown by the middle of next week.

Kits should be available within 2 weeks.

Thanks,

J

Hi all,

I have a 2007 Tacoma. Would be very interested in a DIY kit for a rear bumper with corner protection and a built in 2 inch receiver hitch (recovery point.)

Thanks,

Alan

>I have two friends that will be in the market for Tacoma/4Runner bumpers in the next 2-3 months.

Alan,

I hope to have my test/R&D Taco for that year range in the next month or so. But, the DIY kits would be a couple months away at the soonest.

Hi all,

No worries, 2 - 4 months out is a good time frame for me.

Thanks,

Alan

Jason,
I was able to install your tire carrier (which is designed for your bumper) into my bumper this weekend. Your workmanship is superb and I am very pleased with the parts you supplied as a DIY kit. The additional collar you added was of great help. Thank you very much. I appreciate your patience and the extra help that you put in to make the parts work so well with the design of my bumper.

Larry, you're more than welcome sir. Glad all the parts were to your liking and worked for you. Let me know if you have any other questions or needs.

Let us all know when the plans and everything are finalized. Hope the price isn't too out of reach.

Would you ever consider sending the plans to a shop to get cut and bent locally (for the customer) to save on shipping steel across the country?

Plus , what would stop the shop from making fifty more and selling them direct without having to incur the costs of R&D.....it's been done ( China ).

Jason,
Im super interested.. I was going to have you make me a bumper.. but if the kit is cheaper:hmm:, than thats something I could do right now with my money situation.. (College Student) :clap:Please PM me details as soon as you get everything situated. I live in Durango CO 81301.
Cheers,

Tucker,

PM me with what you want ( front rear, swing outs, bull bar.. etc..). All materials have been ordered and should be delivered Tuesday to the shop. I hope to have most everything cut and bent this coming week. I will first tack up each bumper shell and make sure I'm happy before posting up prices etc...

Thanks for the order Tucker. I'll get it on its way by Friday.

Plate has arrived at the shop, just waiting on my turn.

@reevesci , would the 60 or 70 series happen to be "close" to the right width for an 80 series rear? I wouldn't mind some work to make it fit but having a basic shell/design would be a great starting point as I really like your design on them.

IIRC the 80 is wider by a few inches (or mine was anyway). I have a customers Kaymar 80 coming in to get a tire carrier added to it. I'll do some checking. It'll be a week or so before his bumper is delivered to me.
