I'm not an arborist.

Have logged ~1,500 miles since shocks went on, with ~500lbs positioned over rear axle, and the damn springs aren't giving, a bit.

Which pulls first? The bottom?

It doesn't sound right, but can the 1 1/4-1 1/2" disparity between PS and DS be resolved by removing additional leaves from PS?

Edited for translation:

PS is higher than DS.

Can I remove more springs from PS to level?
Need pics of your rear springs to answer that.

Four?

There are six...

Try removing the leaf right above the overload leaf on the passenger side, that should lower it enough to level out the suspension. Or you could install a shim betweed the leaf pack and the axle on the passenger side to lower the passenger side. Also, your shackle angle looks like its almost 90 degrees. If you can move the shackle hangers so that the shackle is more around 45 degrees you will get better flex and ride.

Wish you could drive my Pig....

Granted, different MO on 40s 2F, nor would 40 ever be safely capable of the 55s near effortless 'speed' (yes, I said it and it's unbelievable true), but it's deserving the same smoothness and power, regardless.

Plus, the head and manifolds had issues and crank showed signs of wear.....no one better to see it through than Robbie.

Onur. He is everywhere.

For posterity and/or to establish value in the event of my demise.

Lower end work is complete and consisted of the following:

Block boiled and all gasket surfaces cleaned.

Block bored and honed to .60" OS pistons set to .0035" skirt clearance. Pistons marked for location.

Block resurfaced .010" to clean (Jim C took care of head milling).

Freeze, oil gallery, and rear can plugs replaced.

Boiled again, after above.

New conrods were out of spec, so were resized, as well crankshaft was reground .020" as it'd been ground .010" previously.

Engine balanced complete. All but block cryogenically treated.

Since everything that is affixed to the engine is either new or freshly rebuilt,at actually get time to drive before we go from spring to hell.

I've been to Jim's shop a couple of times. The last time I was there he was building a engine for guy and his head was red too. Is that his trademark of sorts? That engine look awesome by the way.

So. Cool.
