We also tried that brake pedal pin. Perfect fit.

The pieces of the snorkel were tacked together so we could mock it up on the truck. Today, we'll tig weld them.
I used 4" pipes and elbows and it looks good but in retrospect, maybe 3.5" would have been perfect. It's ok, iguess. If i change my mind about it later ,i'll do something about it.
I finally got the stainless steel staps i'm gonna use for the fuel tanks . I hope to throw those on today too.
This thing is taking shape nicely. My next big expenses shoud be : upholstery, paint, and electric system which unfortunately , i know nothing about. We have a guy that does . Hope he'll have some time to take care of it as this guy is quite busy most of the time.

All of my vehicles are white, so I'm probably not the best to ask about color 😁

I figured you might paint it black, based on your screen name. I'd stay away from metallic paint, they never seem to look right on 40s.

I love the idea of a black truck. My problem with that is that dust is a big problem down here and it would be dirty all the time.
I've considered that Toyota brown.... hasn't grown enough on me yet. My wife says sand dunes beige...... definitely no metallic colors.
Thanks for your input !

I saw a white 4 door . Loved it, but my Nissan Patrol is white . Considering it also....

Ok. Tank straps are done and installed. The tank is a 20 gallon unit from a Land Rover. My secondary tank will be made of stainless. That Corvette tank was gonna take some work to be fitted, might as well build one the way I want it.
We'll get to that later.

Today we installed the Dobinson's suspension.
Ride height on stock suspension is 20.5" tall from the ground to the lowest part of the front bumper. After onstalling the frontcoils shocks and bushes, it jumped to 23"😵...... that's tall as heck. I love it !

We mounted the suspension kit to make sure there is no rubbing anywhere or any other surprises. All seems ok. We lett the plastic bags on them to protect them from being scratched up. Theyll come off again when we paint the chassis and go back one last time......Confusong , huh ?

Haha ! I received my radiator yesterday and a bunch more parts. Beside the radiator which i was able to identify easily thanks to the box, i'm not too sure what else came in yet 😁. One thing is for sure, the back seat of my truck is full of boxes and that can only be a good thing.😝
We were unable go to the shop for the past 3 days because of political unrest since last wednesday.
Things seem to have slown down a bit, so hopefully we can resume work today. Fingers crossed !
