I chased the wire back to the first large Y. I’m seeing a shielded grey wire that used the shielding as the ground. No stripes present.

lets hit the PAUSE button here for a moment please

what model year is your engine bay wire harness ?

i will get the correct OEM paper print media EWD , so we can confirm and verify what we see here above
100% solid

so you have a
SOLID YELLOW

what color coded tracer stripe is the 2nd wire there in your hand , we are going to make certain confirm and verify is in-fact for the oil sender BELL as well ?

i now have as in my hands , from my most recent in-coming JAPAN parts stock order , this past Wednesday a new modern age 2025 OEM YAZAKI updated / upgraded special positive grip detent locking ball female terminal same in-kind you saw in my starter motor lift-off desk-top tech video .

the shape / profile has been tweaked a bit ,but the real CAT's MEOW MEOW here is the application of a unique metallurgy surface treatment i have only ever seen on OEM YAMAHA various MARINE Outboard Motor Electrical terminals .

FACT : TOYOTA MOTOR Japan created / started and owns outright as of today 2025 YAMAHA as there in-house only Engine Design , Development and Manufacturing Entity in 1955 for the sole initial purpose to interpret , use and apply the most recent older generation of the GM inline 6cylinder Engine Blue Prints , Plans and now obsolete to GM matching assembly line tools and equipment they all legally leased from General motors . to now forge , cast and machine all the parts to BANG-OUT the original SIAMESE F Land Cruiser Engines for the FJ25 , FJ28 , FJ40 1956-1966 ( also used in the FA100 Heavy Duty Trucks ) ......

YAMAHA had since designed , and engineered , cast , forged and assembled all the next-generation Land Cruiser Engines including our beloved 3F-E 's , both Gasoline and Diesel's too .........

note: i have no clue ? about the Hybrid and now fully electric ANYTHING TOYOTA Engines , including the ( silly looking & sad in my opinion ) current LAND CRUISER you can buy at your local TOYOTA dealer today .......

.
- so........ now you know what it is you are about to see sparkle & dazzle on-topic below ......

Original wires! Goodness gracious…I guess thats why we buy Toyota’s

Good evening,
So I have a broken oil pressure gauge. I bought a get of gauges, now I’m looking at a replacement cluster. The actual gauge in my current cluster is NLA, anywhere.

A friend of mine shared a link for a digital cluster.

So it actually looks like a pretty cool thing to add to solve my problem. I’m not a Toyota purest when stuff is NLA. I’m okay with a new cluster style.

Question is, is anyone running them? If so, what do you think, is it reliable? I just want reliable.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if there are real benefits, however, are you positive it was the gauge and not the sensor and wiring?

I was in a bind, and bought an aftermarket sensor. I have a factory Toyota sensor coming. Just want to be sure it’s not the non- OE. Wiring was good, after I replaced it. Toyota Matt is sending me some new wiring for it.

I’d like to

After I get new wiring, and sender I’m hoping it all just works. Fingers crossed!

the oil pressure unit for the 3FE is pretty rudimentary and nothing fancy about a 30 yr old tech. I bet it was your wiring. The sensor don't usually go bad, nor does the stock pressure gauge. I put my money on your wiring.

What model derale is this for our 1991's? And how did you install that stereo? I want to put in a double din one but I'm not sure what I'll need.
There is no specific kit for the 3FE, you just need to make sure there are enough clearance for the fans and shroud. Converting to elec. fans is not something i would recommend for most ppl on here. The factory fan clutch with modified green hub works very well with factory cooling system and if you have factory radiator in place still, i would stick with the factory fan clutch. Upgrading to elec. fans open up a whole can of worms and require power upgrade, etc. as our 80 amp alternator will not support modern elec. fans load demand. The double din unit is an older alpine unit and installing these are pretty straight forward if you follow instructions. You will need to refer to the FSM for stereo wiring as i have done this many years ago and couldn't recall the procedures anymore, but it a 1-2 bananas job.

Anyone know where to source the accelerator cable and kickdown cable for a 1991 fj80 3FE ??? Have a ciggie shoved in it currently to compensate for slack. Will shift hard as hell otherwise. Need the part asap so I can drive her!!!!

I bought my 91 with a half assed egr delete done to it. (Pump removed, egr vacuum looped instead of removed and capped) my question is, on the vsv valve going to the throttle body, can I just cap that hard line going to the air injectors? I've seen videos of kits with 4 brass caps on the air injectors, definitely a cleaner look and I'll buy eventually, but for now I'd like to just get the full delete finished.
