More help, there getting pretty good with a ratchet wrench, when they weren't turning wrenches they were selling Girl Guide cookies in front of the garage. Rob brought his inch/pound wrench, very handy for setting the preloads.

Getting close now, staking the nuts, last view of the modified gears and the finished product. Other than drive shafts, which the front needs a new universal the drive line is complete. I need to get onto the exhaust next.

What's up with the rtv around the idler shaft? Didn't use the o-ring?

Standard practice, a little added insurance. I use a little RTV on the splines of the output shafts as well

Got more done today, really want to do something with the exhaust while it is so exposed. I have time right now, but no money, so here is my ghetto exhaust. Threw in a picture of the motor progress.

Hey Phil

Looks like the return line to the fuel tank isn't in yet.:hillbilly:

:flipoff2:
That line, high pressure line and some line that hooks to the charcoal canister, I will probably have get those from my current ride. Waiting for shocks and stainless brake lines from EBI. John at RADD gifted me a couple of drive shafts (thanks John) the front one needs a spider kit, small price to pay. Getting real close now, good news for me is that Ciaran (famous for the introduction of the Wilson switch) has been laid off (bad for him, good for me). It's his and my bud Rob's shop that the body swap will be happening, Rob has no time, Ciaran has nothing but time.

I think I may have the return line and the vent line for the cannister laying in my side yard if you make it down my way. Yours for nothing if you want them.

Get him while you can - if he decides to hang his shingle out again you know he won't have nothing but time for very long...!

Added some support for the dual pipes
The muffler didn't show up today, so I replaced the universal joint whilst I waited

The other hangers look good.

This one will not last. The sammich type mounts are only for use in compression. They just peel apart when weight is hanging off them.

Edit: Looks like maybe the frame bracket could be flipped, leave the mount bolted to it, so now the mount is on top, in compression. Then extend the hanger rod so it lays over the top of the rubber mount. easy-peasy.
