Thanks to wngrog, I picked up a set of these tires last week and did a trip to Utah in the snow, ice, sand, rocks, dirt and these tires worked excellent.

My truck that I had 305/60/18 I did it with no lift

My last tire was 295/70/18 which is 1" taller but my lift was 1" less.

Lift is there on this size tire for looks and load.
How did fuel econ and power compare between those two sizes?

@OregonLC it feels a bit peppier. Hard to tell though.

If you have a 98 with stock suspension you would likely really enjoy a set of light duty OME rears like 866 or 860 and a front TBar tweet.

But it will be fine without.

Can you add the rear springs and tweak the torsion bars without upgrading shocks...at first, anyway?

Absolutely. People get all funky about it but yes. As long as you are mostly street cruising and light roads.

That said, I did Bilsteins on my truck that only had TBar tweak. They were cheap and WAY upgrade over clapped out stock shocks and much less harsh than OME Sport

Per the BFG website, they have a listing of recommended RIM WIDTH RANGE (MIN/MAX) and the 305/65/18 KO2 is recommended at 8.5" - 11". Our stock wheels are 8". Does this have any implications?

Nah. You good.

I used to run 12.50's on 6" stock 40 wheels.....

I've got 5000 miles and 2350 of them were high speed high adventure to Big Bend last week.

The tires drove and tracked perfectly.

They are about 7% off on the speedo. The truck hit 100 mph in West Texas a few times.

Smooth as glass

I really like the look of this size, I may pass off the 275/70's to my wife's 200 and go with a set of these. OP, do you still have the spacers you were running? If so, any desire to sell them?

I sold the spacers.

Looking at mine v the guy on the trip with me that had spacers and 275's his May track 1" wider.

That said, taking the spacers out is just one thing less to worry about. Slee/Spidertrax are the best but I'd rather not.

I have a slight rub on the front of the paint on my upper control arm (stock)

I can't hear or feel it and it would take 200 years of rubbing to hurt the tire.

Not sure what part of the 460 miles off road made it tubby the it's not constant.

Is this confirmation of rub at stock height under some form of articulation? If so, to back up a page, would the slee override of AHC mitigate that completely or is there still risk? About to pull the trigger on these and want confirmation...

It's the width of the tires. No lift will help. It's also nothing to worry about.

I don't feel it hear it and it's a non issue.

I kinda figured, tire being 12.1" wide. I'm not sweating bullets, but I'd also like to avoid any unintended friction/stress in areas the rig wasn't designed for. Could you possibly post up pics of the wear from the rub you've experienced?
