I love the GR-S hybrid but the 68L tank was a deal breaker for me, its an issue in all GCC spec Hybrid GR-S 300s.
The GX-R/VX/VX-R hybrid 300 get the aux tank for a total of 98L (still smaller than 110L of non hybrid - but good enough)
No one has been able to tell me why but im guessing some sort of technicality by GSO maybe?

It's the same aux tank as the Non-hybrid, but Toyota kept the same smaller main tank in place; best guess I have is for weight reduction (~20lb/9kg). I'm just guessing though as I haven't dropped my tank to see if there is some HV cabling that have required the change.

Edit: corrected typo in red.

I meant to ask why does the GCC spec GR-S hybrid get only single tank 68L but other GCC Spec hybrid LC get aux tank as well for total of 98L.

Surely some regional spec technicality, could it be related to weight? I don't see the same issue with AUS spec.

Saudi has this issue with LX700h as well, they only get 68L but other GCC countries get LX700h with Aux tank ( total 98L ).

I believe previously in Saudi, we only had the GR-S as diesel, not petrol, versus the other GCC countries with petrol option available. So the petrol GR-S hybrid was a nice, new option here, until I fueled it up for the first time 😄

I drive once a month between Riyadh and Dammam, approximately 400km. With my 2013 camry, I would go to Dammam and reach midway driving back before I needed to refuel. With the GR-S hybrid, I can't make it one way without needing to refuel.

I hope it is only for weight reduction, and there is space for a larger 110L/29G main tank as the replacement. Do let us know if you end up exploring the tank, I believe it was your posts on deleting the 3rd row that were very interesting. For the time being, I put a rug over the folded down 3rd row so it kinda looks like a false floor.

I did a quick check on the LX700H in Saudi, their website is listing main and sub tanks for 98L total. This might be new, not sure.

The sales people at Toyota in Riyadh were confused when I crawled under the VX-R hybrid in the showroom to look at the tanks 😄

I take comfort in the fact that the GCC GR-S hybrid and the USA LX700H are same fuel tank sizes, and possibly Australia's GR-S hybrid when it launches in two months. We will then have multiple markets building solutions for same/similar vehicles.

I read on the Land Cruiser Forum a detailed post from a US-based LC250 owner who successfully swapped his 68L tank with a single 110L tank.

I hope to only replace the main tank versus having to explore adding an aux tank. However, I am not an engineer nor an auto mechanic, so I will continue reading the different forums and groups in search of a solution.

All of this might simply be wishful thinking as I navigate the joys of a first gen product 😄 and my first new car (always bought used).

Oh what’s this?

Nice! Are they installing it or are you? I read the description on these rock sliders and it mentioned something about drilling two holes, but i was clear whether the drilling is done to the frame.

Nice!! What are getting done total?

Very first production set of Slee's AHC compatible frame mounted sliders!

I'll be installing myself here in the next week or two and will document my process.

Christo and Amory took the time to show me the manufacturing and design challenges they had and it really shows the amount of effort they have invested into making a great product. The sheer amount of parts in the slider set is impressive!

I'll report back as I make sometime to install them!

Hmm, looks like it requires drilling into the frame? I wonder if that is unavoidable...I don't want to change the frame without some sort of FEA...

Three small 1/2" holes on the body mount weldments, which are then reinforced by 3/16" plate bolted to these locations. I assure you FEA is unnecessary.

Slee's stuff is the best! Looking forward to seeing your write up on the install.

wasnt sure where to put this video, but seems very interesting.
i dont know if several LC assemblies were jumbled up in video, but the one with "loyota" and the vehicles shown at beginning seem like a whole different lc 300 series and one built specially by hand.

I'm pretty sure this video has nothing to do with reality and is AI generated...

LOL. I mean it's possible Toyota only hires people with perfect skin with no imperfections, and an occasional random American white woman to install floor mats.

The LX570 at the end was a nice touch too!

well its a very nice video whoever made. Almost looks real but some aspects were not accurate. love scene at start with the 20 or so white LC that look rather unique and aggressive. only elon musk could afford to have an army of LC. hundreds more were in that AI generated garage!
