Have you read my article "Life in the Slow Lane"?

The story is in the archives of TLCA's Toyota Trails. It is also on the Collected Stories link on my website. Unfortunately I am tech limited with providing links from my iPhone.

Cool. I will check it out!

I have two 45's with the 3 on the tree(one even has a 2F) and LOVE them, also more than a few with 4 speeds.....love them as well(surely easier to drive) A 40 was the 1st time I had ever driven a 3 on the tree.

there is something magical to me about driving a 3 on the tree in a decent old cruiser....it just puts you back in another time when things were not as rushed or hurried, in the 45LV there is not even a heater or seatbelts.....so its like a real trip back in time. You also typically have a bench seat(and nothing on the floor, unless a PTO) in a 3 on the tree and it often makes for nice times with a ladies(or your dog). My 82 with a Tuffy console does not lend itself to the same experience.....

now a 4 on the tree..........I'd be in heaven. (Stout's had those)
