OK Sami, get your shoes on, this is a wild trip.

Remember the campfire story about the kid who parked his rig at a guy's house named Russel? Ummm, do you now own that Cruiser

As I recall he still has the title, wanna look up your VIN number

The VIN is here somewhere, I know its about 600 off Clementine...

Post up the VIN..... then I'll walk next door and tell you if it matches........

I'll see if I can verify. May be a delay due to Thanksgiving.

Yes the red one, We named it Red Dwarf.
This is all news to any of us, Kurt, Jason and I were out on the trail with a bunch of people, There was camp fire chat, One of the guys mentioned his situation, Kurt put a few things together, However, This may or may not be the vehicle  Its kind of a shock to me, None of us knew anything, Kind of a small world though...

Kurt has talked to the local guy who is 99% sure that it was their pig. He left it unattended for 3-5 years or so. In that time the property owner where it was stored put a new motor in it, then sold it to Pablocruise.

Kurt told me that the kid doesn't care for it back, but if it's been retitled at all he really has zero legal claim over the vehicle. In the states eyes he essentially abandoned the truck. Russel mightve retitled it to sell.. Do you recall pablocruise?

Wow... I am stunned.

I will investigate what I know about the title. I did get a title from Russel, with Russel's name on it. I actually called Russel back b/c the state of Utah put an extra "0" in the VIN on the title that prevented me from getting a CO title. Russel did not return my calls, so I had a CO State Patrol inspect VIN and sign off.

I am really disappointed in this chain of events. Obviously there are two sides every story.

Who was the owner before Russel sold it?

From what i've heard of the laws, Russel was within legal bounds to have the truck titled to himself since it was more or less abandoned on his property for several years. I can't say how hard Russel attempted to get ahold of the owner.

Also, since the CO LEO checked the VIN and signed it off for you that means the truck was not considered stolen.

The guy intentionally left the pig for several(3-5) years. Maybe Kurt can explain this better.

Jason -
Still waiting for the "previous" owner to return from Thanksgiving to verify the VIN. Just wanted to clarify - the truck was not abandoned - the truck was not intentionally left for 3-5 years. If this is the same truck - an agreement was made with Russ and the PO that was not kept.

I'de like to interject here for a min. I was the original purchaser of the pig from Russel. I gave him a deposit and rode out to Salt Lake City with a friend to pick the pig up and drive it home. I don't think Russel had the title when I got there but he was in the process of getting it. So I gave him the money for the pig with a 3FE conversion done to it. Well I payed the man and drove the pig to my friends house whre I was sleeping that night before i dove the 8 hours home to CO. Got up in the morning and showed my friend the pig and took him for a drive and the transmission started screaming absolutely screaming at me. Checked it and it was bone dry. So we spend literally 4 hours driving around Salt lake for an open auto shop. finally find one buy oil and drop it in. I then start driving home and to make a long story even a little longer....I get 30 miles from Green River Wyoming and 40 from teh next town the windshield is splattered with oil. The cover of where the fuel pump was had come off some how and drained the engine and it seized. Russel ened up driving out to pick me up and take me home then headedhome in the morning. as it wasn't the vehicle that Russell had guraanteed I did not purchase it. It was impounded as it sat on the side of the hwy and then ended up at MiniPigs place I think for a while where Pablo picked it up. Russel still owes me $250 back from the purchase of the pig. I have written it off as a loss. But I will never ever do business with him again or his business Portalteck. He was nice enough to pick me up and take me home but IMO he is a shady shady mother fxxxer.

This is an important point that should be clarified.
