Looks like my soccer tourney is not this weekend. If there is room for an extra on Saturday let me know. I don't have to camp overnight but would be good to meet everyone and at least ride the trail for a bit.

Anyone coming from Charlotte?

I will be coming up from Charlotte

Ryan, no worries on equipment. I am sure we will be more than well equipped between all those going.

This is a loose knit group and with 10 rigs we will not be breaking any land speed records. All route decisions are open once we are rolling. Izzy has final say. We have plenty of people to accommodate so the only hard rules are:

-Gas up just before you get to the rest stop
-Plenty of water.
-An extra water container (1 gal milk jug is always good) to gather water if you need some for overheating.
- ANY MEDICATION YOU REQUIRE
-First Aide Kit
-Fire Extinguisher(s)

Izzy has final say.

This is all I read! I would add radio for communicating. And land speed records are for plebes, where we are going, we dont need roads!

there is an exxon at exit 20 (hwy 276) ...... 2 exits east of the rest area to fuel up at. If you come in on 40 E you will have to pass the rest area regardless to meet up so just go one extra exit past fines creek. Also there should be a gas up option in Hartford TN just before you get to the state line. exit 447 i think. Either should work for you.

@NCFJ and @Izzyandsue Looks like my sliders will NOT be on. My crappy paint job isn't working and I need to media blast and repaint or powerdercoat vs just welding on a crappy paint job.

Do you guys think I will be OK? I can't remember HAVING to have sliders last year, but it is tight in some parts.

:\

I went through Hurricane Creek completely stock with my factory running boards still on. ;-)

Basically still stock....just minus the running boards now....lol.

I'm mostly concerned about the length of my truck and the trees on the sides. I will just have to be careful I think. :) Thx

Hurricane creek is easy, unless you decide to do off course excursion like others tried!

The rest of the route is not rocky where you want sliders, just rutted and, with this rain, muddy. Another reason we really want radios to communicate along the route.

Is there an exit with gas near the rest stop?

And coming from TN side, unless you can spot the secret exits, you're going to have to go to NC exit 15 in order to double back to the rest stop at MM 8. You'll have an extra gallon or three to start if you push on to exit 20.

I seem to remember that your secret camping spot was the place we had an issue :)
