The water pump on my 82 fj60 went out last week and I have noticed while looking for a replacement Toyota has discontinued the part. Anyone have leads on a good quality replacement with oil cooler and fan clutch?

No, but. If you can find a waterpump for a direct-drive fan you can just swap the front flange. I have to swap that flange every time I get a new waterpump because I don't have a fan clutch. City Racer still lists a waterpump with an oilcooler/without a fanclutch.
Alternatively, there's been more & more talk of people having to get their old waterpump rebuilt.

Very interesting. I have found the Aisin WTP 020 is available in many places; Rock auto, Amayama, and others.
Ok, here’s what I ended up doing.
Got the NPW water pump from CruiserOutfitters. They have the one that is actually made in Japan that is for our 2f that has a fan clutch and oil cooler.
@Spike Strip found a NPW pump on Amazon for quite a bit cheaper than the NPW from CruiserOutfitters but just to be sure it was actually from Japan etc etc, I went with the one from CruiserOutfitters.

Have you installed a WTP-020? I think the Aisin P/N that has the right fan clutch flange is the WPT-028 from my research. The WTP-020 likes it has the direct drive flange/shaft. I don't have "hands on" knowledge, but just from researching and looking at way too many pictures. If you are correct I am even more confused now.
I never thought of switching the flange, I though the shaft was shorter for the fan clutch unit. How do you swap them? Is it pressed on?

I do not have the hands on knowledge of this specific direct drive water pump. I was commenting on what @Pighead had said about switching out the direct drive flange to the clutch flange, as he has had to do the opposite for his water pumps. I found what appears to be available direct drive water pumps.

They're just a simple pull off/ press on flange, two-jaw puller works. Put the waterpump in the freezer and warm up the flange and it slides right on...
FWIW, that same flange (for use with fan clutch), 16171-61071 is used on 2F, 3B, 3FE pumps

According to the 2F repair manual there is no difference in pump besides the direct drive and clutch flange.
There is even a spec for pressing the preferred flange onto the pump.
So I purchased an Aisin WTP020 as a back up on the shelf.

The direct drive type water pump versus the fan clutch type use different bearings. I haven't verified this but I've been told because the fan clutch type WP obviously has more rotating mass to handle, it has a correspondingly larger bearing.
So will adding a fan clutch to the water pump that's not designed for it cause wear or longevity issues? I have no idea. But it's a reasonable possibility.
