Toyota FJ40
Oct. 1973
VEH. IDENT. NO. FJ40161504
Eng. Serial # F 513118
Lower Block # 60032

I don't see a 2 after the F. I've attached the pic. I also can't find the frame #. The front bumper has been modified so I hope it's not under a welded plate on the frame.

If you have an original 2F in your 40 or 55, please post up your engine serial number, and the month/year of your truck build and the vin if you would. I am trying to complie 2F year data.

I will be posting this up in the 60 section as well.

Thank you for your help!

What is the purpose of the 2F Year Data?

2F 3222xx ; can't make out the last 2

Here's the interesting dilemma - I took this out of my 60 as I started the restoration, had it bored .030 over, put in the Man-a-Fre cam, found Man-a-Fre headers, desmogged it, found a Weber 38 - and found out, when trying to put the Saginaw steering pump bracket on - this block was missing the bolt holes that are present in the 2F appropriate for my 87 60. After some digging, I've discovered I have a fresh, built, desmogged pre-78 2F engine (so I am told) not made for my truck, which was the whole idea of the restoration.

Geez.

Anyone doing a 78 or earlier resto that is looking for a fresh original engine, complete?
