I'm out of town or I would lay these out side by side to determine the feasibility of the idea. A friend is working on it now and asked about it. He's struggling with the standard versus automatic flywheel conversion. We've got a rebuilt '89 3FE that we're trying to mate to a 4-speed from a '82 FJ60 (2F). Will this combo mate together as is? Special bolts for the flywheel or off to the machine shop? Any insights greatly appreciated. He also has the '89 automatic tranny and transfer case for sale.

I used the 2f 4 speed bell housing, flywheel and pressure plate/clutch behind my 3fe. I am running a H55f 5 speed so the 4 speed should work.

There are many threads on this, but I believe you have to use different flywheel bolts to get this combination to work.
