2017 Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series: Australian updates confirmed for fourth-quarter launch | CarAdvice

I'm not sure it will be to everyone's taste ,its slowly evolving into a car with a front diff.
The front is looking more like KZJ7*

Its actually for the 4th quarter of 2016, so released as a 2017 model. Current stock is running out fast. If you were to order a new 70 series cruiser today, you would more than likely get the update.

Thats also an older photo, the update comes with auto locking hubs.

It's definitely starting to get the same lines as the old 70 series Prados. Still an awesome looking machine though. I'm so glad they are still making it.

^ 25 years. Not too many people are interested in a $40k truck with relatively zero comfort.

Is it likely these are already out there in other parts of the world?
Over the past couple weeks, I've seen a white one, not from up close, but its got crisp lines on the fenders and doors, a bit like the older ones or a 60's series.

That is the interesting part. America would be a great market if the consumer mindset was, "this is likely the last truck I have to buy". Unfortunately for us, it's not.

The American mindset ..... In no particular order.
Will my cup holders hold a large Starbucks foo-foo coffee.
Are the seats heated and cooled.
Does it have Bluetooth and every electrical doo-dad known to man.
Will it look good parked at the office?
To name a few.....

that's still a damn fine looking truck........

Hhmmmph.... I'm not at all keen on this new-fangled stuff, all while being very happy that 70s are yet in production. I'm showing my age and grumpy attitude here: give me the known old and reliable,or i lose interest. I am aware that the 70's days are numbered, but a huge proportion of the world i want to visit is the sort that deals with older technology, so help for an older car is actually available as well as useful. Plus, an older bozo like myself has a chance of keeping the old beast going, IF something goes wrong: one of the things that has me attracted to older Cruisers is their proven reliability. Nothing matters more, no matter how sexy the new stuff is, and i have been seduced by the convenience with every modern i drive.

New cruisers are phenomenally reliable. Thinking that an older rebuilt truck is going to be more reliable than a brand new one fresh from Japan is flawed in my opinion.

Expeditions 7 essentially circumnavigated the earth in new 7x trucks, and I don't think they broke down even once.

I hear the toyota V8 diesels are having regulr problems with the injector pump.
And a very costly fix as well.
Perhaps some of the aussies will confirm this.

Injectors yes pump no
