Okay, maybe more of a "what are you going to do to your 80" thread post:
After pretty much everyone this weekend said, "hey, did you know your truck sags a little to one side?" and after having the rear driver coil pop out twice coming up out of the same hole from camp, I've done a lot of researching on replacement shocks and springs.
Pretty sure I'm leaning towards this setup:
4" HD coils from Dobinson's USA (newer to the US suspension parts from Australia). For just the HD coils, $545 shipped to lower 48 states:

FOX 2.0 Performance Series Smooth Body IFP shocks for 3-5" of lift. Almost everyone grabs these from Downsouth on ebay by doing best offer for $230 a pair, but I couldn't find the rears through them. So I went to Autoanything.com and entered AS20 for 20% off.....$419 shipped for all 4.
One really nice thing is that these seem to be valved specifically for the 80's.
Here's the mud link on the discussion for these shocks:

So for $964 all in, it feels like I'll have a really nice setup, and for about the same or less than OME.
ANY AND ALL THOUGHTS WELCOME!!! Haven't pulled any triggers yet...
I vote you do it man! That sounds like a solid setup... What do you have for caster correction now? That may be something to consider as would be driveline vibrations (are you comfortable spending money for a DC driveshaft or putting more for Caster Correction?)
Rob made a template of my plates which are good for up to 4 inch lift. The tjm springs that are for sale are 5 inch. So little taller. I agree with you I have to upgrade mine and I want to give these a tryNo caster correction currently. I'll have to order the castor plates from Slee, the extended brake lines from Napa, and will see how the driveshaft does. Sammy got a pretty good deal on a DC that he ordered.
Hey Jess, see what turbophil wants for that rear set. Though at $272.50 a pair for the HD Dobinson's, I'm really wanting to give them a try. heard great things about them, and they already account for the stinkbug look that the OME's give with the rear being slightly taller.

@R.E.M. hey whats the story on that 60 series ? Do you have a build thread ? I love the old school look of those interiors, and its a 5 spd, awesome.
This is the one that came from Sturgis South Dakota.
I'm stealing a bunch of parts, then parting it out.
my buddy has some lx wheels they has some pitting and someone....duiser....painted them an awful gold color. Not sure if he wants to get ride of them or keep them for a just in case. I'll ask him not time I see him.
