Based upon our past voting threads:

The following BOD positions are being vacated and will take nominations for 2015:

Treasurer
Events Coordinator
Uwharrie Representative

Any member in good standing can nominate someone or themselves for these positions. These positions will be for 2 years and up for re-election in 2017. Nominations will be open for the month of December and January. Voting will take place in February and the new positions will be announced in March at the Meet and Greet or before.

NO CHAT in this thread, official business only.

Thanks Brian for the excellent format :D

 I nominate Sarah Stabley for events coordinator.

While i'd love to do it again I don't have the time or resources to go on most of these trips anymore so it isn't right I sit on the BOD any longer than this.

I'll just devote my time to planning for logan's run.

I also renominate Darin for Uwharrie Liason, because really who else is going to do this better than him??

Same than lt1fire

Does a family membership make all parties involved "in good standing"? I know it only gives one person voting rights.

Basically, does Sarah need to have a separate membership to accept a BOD position even though we have a family membership (and I'm already on the BOD)? Money isn't the issue, just trying to know the rules.

All BOD members are required to be TLCA members, but that's a different story.

2nd Sarah for Events
2nd Darin for Uwharrie

I nominate Allen @Fort Knox for Treasurer.

I'll look into your question John. Standby.

EDIT:
- The bylaws state that in order to be in the BOD, you must meet all items of Article 3 Section 1, and join the TLCA. There is nothing that states whether family members are considered to meet all items of Article 3 Section 1.

I'm OK with it if we all agree.

ARTICLE V: Voting and Quorums
Section 1: Definition of Voting Member
Voting members are defined as having met the requirements of Article III Section 1 and are identified on a membership application as applicant or spouse of applicant.

JV says: Hmmm, I should have studied law. I read this as meaning family membership allows 2 voting members; maybe more for a polygamous member. Or maybe only one vote, but it can be either spouse.

Either way, since I think it would be financially beneficial to the club - whether or not Sarah is elected - to have 2 individual memberships instead of one family, I'm sure we'll go that route when we're due.

Cool. Sara is good to go to accept the nomination if she wants to.

Thanks for nominating Darin again for the Uwharrie rep, we appreciate the thought. I have asked that he not serve on more then one club or organizational group in 2015. He will be unable to dedicate time to serving. We will always be available to help with continuing communication between the user groups in Uwharrie.

This is not intended to be a slight against you Robin, but Darin has to be the one to accept / deny the nomination.

I nominate Eric Johnston as Uwharrie Rep.

We can definitely do that!!

Darin declined his nomination via text message.

Thus, we have:

Allen Dickenson - Treasurer
Sara Stabley - Events Coordinator
Eric Johnston - Uwharrie Representative

Nominations are still open!

All excellent choices!

My reasons for not accepting the nomination for the BOD right now.

I have accepted a higher volunteer piece from the USFS and am now trying to do more stuff for the workdays not involving the USFS so we can help them out.

Am on the FOU BOD.

Am a key player in the Trail Planning committee for the USFS about coming up with ways / strategies to keep URE trails open for the next 20 years not just next year.

I also volunteer with the following places. Team RWB, Team Rubicon, and the PGR.

As you can tell my time is all spoken for before even going out to my shop to try and pay some bills. Also i think that a new person stepping into this position and coming up with new ways to motivate folks to come out to these workdays is a good thing as i have given it all i had.

Now, someone with one of those shirts just given out for volunteering on the trails please post a pic. I would like to see one please.

So, i hope you all understand. And i have a farm here that needs a HAMON or 5.

Thanks for asking me to do it though. I appreciate it.
