2010 Deer Valley FJ45 Run, Thank You

Thanks to all for a really great time, I am so glad I joined the trip last year and all the fun I had preparing my Cruiser for this years run. I know it's only a sixty but it sure is fun to be included with such a wonderful and hospitable group of people. I have such a good time watching all the families and kids enjoying the outdoors. I especially like to see the youngsters driving the classic Cruisers. It may sound korney but they are our future and it it good to see them taking part in a wholesome activity like offroading. I was so happy to win prizes at the raffle. It was especially cool to see Ken's daughter draw his ticket for the 50/50 raffle, AMAZING. You all did a fantastic job and Lorie and I really appreciated being involved. This event will be one we will not want to miss for years to come. We can hardly wait for our first Surf n Turf.

I was just thinking to myself:hmm: "I wonder how out of place a 60 would look at this event next year!" Of course mine doesn't look as nice as yours, but still...:D

Thanks Georg for all your time and energy putting this together! It was great to see all those 45's in one spot.

My daughter and her friends had fun and we wish we could have stayed longer.

I would like to try to walk in to Stevenot camp next year if anyone else would like to join us

I'm in. This camp is on my old topo map., shown as a 4x4 trail, now a hiking trail like you stated. I could not find the trail before the second crossing so I just went back to camp. I'll be up for the hike next year.

Teapot,
Here is where the signpost and start of the trail is after the second creek crossing. By the map and my recollection you crossed the creek once on the through trail and then again to turn off to the Stevenot trail although there is no idication of that now. We parked just before the crossing and walked through the meadow staying on the north/west side of the creek.

Had a great time even though we were there for only one night. Especially had a great time when we pulled out the rig above.

Thanks to Georg and everyone who showed up for making this event memorable.

Big thanks go out to Don for giving me a new set of calipers so I could make it to the run. Could not have gone without them.

is that the fire pit where you sacrifice a j**p owner?

It was relatively intact from last year. It only took us short time to put it back together for this years event.

It's designed so that, in the off chance someone brings one, you can roast a whole pig on it.

It's been known to happen :grinpimp:

*No J**p owners were hurt in the making of this event.

But a 'Cruiser did have to haul a dead jeep away...'though the jeep was drownded, not burnded.

The following are from “Western Sierra Jeep Trails” by Roger Mitchell and published by La Siesta Press in 1976.

This is “Fording Blue Creek”, page 6.
