Well...I think most of us did stay in a hotel and take a shower...so not quite roughing it, the trails were no easy thing in Moab especially. Still my idea of a vacation- so might as well have a club.

OK... -then next year, we require everyone to wear the same underwear twice...poop in the woods at least once...and find at least one plant to eat for lunch. :grinpimp:

In all honesty, I think it would be cool to pitch a tent off of some trail up yonder... or back of the truck...or roof-top tent...or...
Maybe even just a night... I dunno. If I'd been traveling alone? -I'd have done that in a second if it's allowed. I've done that a zillion times elsewhere... Is that even allowed up there? Kinda thinking it's not, but that's a total guess. I didn't see any tents except for way down yonder on the approach toward Silverton.

Year before last our group spotted some folks camping off the trail but within site utilizing ground tents and I think I remember seeing a RTT as well. What was that trail? It was the one where we stopped and watched the helicopter take off. Those Rangers were reclaiming old mines....someone chime in....name that trail

Pretty sure that was going up Mineral Creek Basin on Engineer Pass.

Had some technical difficulty in my last post...

I love my hammock setup, even in the KOA campground (my KOA neighbor was @BikeNuke and I know @Taco2Cruiser was out in the hinterlands with their RTT plus other campers I am forgetting)

Beauty of a bull bar (can't wait for mine) is that you only need one other anchor point for a hammock, and at altitude that can be a blessing.

I don't know about 'on trail' i.e. Black Bear camping, but the US forest service should have it mapped out - but I'm in for sure next year!

This was in Moab 2015 at Labyrinth or hardscrabble camp site on the White Rim Trail. All you need is one tree...and a bulbar...lol

Hey! I'm definitely getting a bull bar up front...but I never thought of that sort of use!! So true!! I always picture having to find two trees perfectly distanced apart! -What a great, simple fix!! OK. Might have to go front bull bar even BEFORE Slee gets his done...if I'm up and walking, of course. :)

Teaser announcement: stay tuned for the 3rd annual 200's in ????? Summer 2017.

Lake Tahoe....... ? Rubicon?

New York City?!? (imagine a cattle-driving rancher sitting by a campfire during a terrible Pace Picante Sauce commercial)
