2006 rear hatch vs 2002 ? (1 Viewer)

hey all,

so i'm in need of a new upper hatch on my 06 lx470. there's a bit of rust under the window. my body shop guy can't find a local remanned one for that year but i was able to find some for a 2002 to 2005. are they the same? was it universal through the years as well as the toyota LC side? i'm just trying to open up the search parameters at these junk yards.

Your best bet will be 03-up.

It is generally accepted, all years even LX to LC fitment the same, but unproven. I helped one local owner mount a 1998 LC hatch to 2003 LC. It bolted in, latch and sealed okay.

98-02 to 03-07 is greatest variation in molding mount.

But molding, badges and how they attach different. In addition wires and washer and other variation. So some customizing may be needed.

The lights are slightly different, but only at the bottom. The upper tailgate is the same. The bottom is different.

I appreciate the info. I swear i did search, I'm not just being lazy. The threads i found only mentioned lc to lx but nothing about the different years from the 02 vs 03 and up.
