When I tried to put them on my fj60, the base where the bolt and the cap goes was too wide to fit. It caught on the black bezel around the wiper arm bolt.

Did I order the wrong ones? Did I not get the part I ordered?

200x 4runner are supposed to work..

Yes they’re wrong. You need 3rd gen arms. 96-02. 03-09 is 4th gen.

What is the benefit of using these arms? Or it is just to get a less-rusty option for your 60 series?

Stronger, tighter & fully protected arm springs equates to a firm and tight contact between blade and windshield glass. AND, you can probably add LESS RUSTY as a plus in the cosmetics catagory. Just buy new, not used arms.

Whenever I see a 4Runner wiper arm thread, I can't help but mention that I went to the wrecker and grabbed a set of wiper arms from a 1st gen Nissan X-Terra for $15. They work great on my FJ62.

Only non-purists and cheapskates need apply.
