Interesting. Did you inspect the EFI fuse slot for signs of burning or melting?... other than checking for blown fuse. Did you totally bypass the EFI fuse and go to the battery imstead?
No didn't because I dont know how. If I had a picture of how to do it I could but I really dont want to mess it up more without knowing exactly how to do it. Thats why I didn't do the POST51 that Medtro said to do.

From that post, take a wire and go from terminal F to the + battery post.

A fused wire with a spade on one end and a connector like a ring to go on battery post.

Huh, have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob?

Or have you tried the valet key, if u have one.

Security light blinks when the key is in with that jumper in place? Do you have another key you can try?
It still blinks and no other key. I wish I did. So from doing research it looks like I need to check ECU box that is behind the glovebox. If anyone knows of something else any info would be awesome. All the info that everyone has give has been the absolute best. This community is awesome.

Clues!
  • Was OBD port working. Prior to sudden engine stop running & crank no start.
  • Did security light, stop blinking, when IG key in. Prior to current issue (crank no start).
  • Is factory windshield still in. (water entry concerns if ever replaced)
  • Any water noted in RH footwell. Was heavy rain present during or just before current issue. (Water entry concerns. If trough under windshield becomes flooded. Then, water overflows into HVAC fresh air intake. This happens during very heavy rain, if fender cavity full of debris).
  • Any aftermarket wiring? (I've seen where, old aftermarket wiring, caused issue, 10 years later).
  • Where all fuses & relays check. IIRC; 2001 has 3 location under the hood, 1 in LH foot well and 1 in RH foot well.
  • Make sure as fuses pulled, none feel stuck and none have oxidation on prongs (sign of old water intrusion).
  • Check wires on alternator.
  • Check cam & crank sensor wires. (BK1, front of engine)

OBD port working in past and not communicating now. May be your best clue!

If my memory serves me well I do believe the OBD was scanning before. What would that mean?

Have you look at and eliminated all the other clues, I listed above?

I've never had to deal with a OBD port not communicating. It indicates, some sort of a failure (short or break) in circuit. Search mud. See what others have found the cause and fix for OBD port.

Backing-up a bit. When we have engine sputter and die. Then crank (starter turns crankshaft) and no start. 9 out of 10 times, is fuel starvation. We can test if fuel starvation. By pulling fuel line off fuel filter, connect catch hose to filter and run to catch can. Then crank engine. No fuel flow seen, we then test fuel pump circuit.

If security light stays on after IG key in, and condition (security light on) only started after this cranking no start. It would be a failure to send 12V of power to fuel pump. Which immobilizer completes the circuit. Jumping fuse box (F) with 12V (as above). Can tell us if fuse box has a short.

One other part of the circuit is the crank sensor. Which was mentioned in first few post, by others, in this thread. ECM must see crankshaft turning. So we must have a good crank sensor, which they don't often fail. But what fails a lot, which is do to improper Timing belt and or fan bracket service. Is routing crank sensor wire wrong. Which my last clue above mentioned
  • Check crank sensor wires. (BK1, front of engine)
Crank wire routed wrong.webp

Crankshafts sensor & oil sending unit wire harness routed wrong. Can rub on fan belt, and cut through wires.

Engine wire harness main (1)a.webp

If above wire harness looks okay. Pulling glove box is easy next step.

Thank you so much for the pictures and reply! I will look into all these things after my long work days. I appreciate it very much and I will keep yall informed on what I find. ❤️❤️
