Hey all,

New to the forum and a new owner of an awesome 2000 LX 470. The rig is relatively built: front/rear bumper with tire swing-out, winch, roof-rack, OME lift, sliders, rims/tires.

The man I bought it from took great care of it, but the center locker has never been engaged. I did some basic troubleshooting (driving forward and reversing in 4-low with the center diff lock button engaged) but no shot at getting it unstuck. Prior to taking possession of the vehicle, all fluids were changed, including in the diffs.

I am no expert and am just getting to know these vehicles, but is this something that I need to get handled at a shop? Or are there any tips or tricks to get it unstuck on my own?

Thanks!

Have you tried the FSM?

Does your CDL dash light illuminate when you press the button?

There is a sensor that detects when the center diff (front output shift fork) is in the locked position.

There is a small motor than move this fork into place when you press the button. This motor could not be operating.

You need to figure out if it is not actually locking, or if it is just the sensor.
