@a200 on my land cruiser I have run LT285/65r18, LT275/70r18 and LT285/70r18. There is a noticeable weight penalty going up to a 34” tire (LT285/70r18). The LT275/70r18 and LT285/65r18 sizes generally weight in the low to mid 50 lbs range, looks like some of the heavier ones will exceed 60lbs like the Falken AT3w. 34” generally weight in the 60 to 70 pound range. I much prefer the weight of my 50 lbs all terrains in LT275/70r18 for daily driving.

Both LT275/70r18 and LT285/65r18 will fit with factory wheels (60 or 56mm offset) with minimal to no fuss depending on the specific make/model of the tire. I don’t see how LT285/70r18 would squeeze in there without some effort and cutting and molding of the front fender liners.

285 75 17 was the current thinking

Generally I think the 285/75/17 does best with a +30-35 offset. Unless the model you buy runs larger than calculated, you should clear the KDSS and will simply have to do some work on the inner fender liner. I've been running that size on RWs (+50) with a .75" (19mm) spacer (+31 effective offset) for a few years with nothing but plastic moved out the way.

Awesome. I'm in the air between a +25 & +35 set of wheels, and just don't know which tires will be best

Method has some 24-25 lb 25-35 offset wheels…which, coupled with 57 lb cooper 285 75 r17 gets you to 81-82 lb wheel weight package, which is right in the middle of the oem wheel/tire package weight.

So a 25 offset with 285 75 17s oughts to work, no? The fenders, linings have been trimmed already, so if it's more its fine

You should be fine, but there's always a chance you might kiss the KDSS bar at full-lock and there's always a chance you could touch the body mount slightly when turning in reverse. Neither will be a show stopper.

I bought the wheels that I did because they were 24lbs and the 285/75/17 KO2's are 60lbs so that gives me a 84lb per corner package which is significantly lighter than the 16+ OEM wheels with 275/70/18 KO2's at 91lbs per corner. The factory wheels are pigs at 33lbs each.

Did you run the same tire in all those sizes? I am not dealing with KDDS, does that factor into your preferred choice? Were the 285/65 a different weight than your 275s?

On my first gen tundra I am running a similar + sized tire and I am happy with the experience.

Unfortunately all these sizes were different makes/models. I prefer height over width plus the lt275/70r18 is a much cheaper size in general. There are also alot more choices in this size and some will measure as wide as a 285 width tire such as my previous kenda klever RTs so I wasn't sacrificing width for height.

The weight between these two sizes is generally within a few pounds so not much of a differnce. I think the 275s are typically lighter accross the board. Neither of these sizes are big enough to cause a KDSS issue on my LC. There are now more options in the LT285/70r18 then there used to be. Nitto has a few opttions as does Toyo that are not just Mud Terrains.

I have accessed the spreadsheet in the past.

Has it moved, missing at this moment, or have I completely overlooked it?..

Good for you.

I don't know if this is the original one or one from another post but it has some input. I'll keep looking for the anything else. Nice thing about google sheets is that if you have accessed it in the past, you can find it.

Many Thanks!

@TheGrrrrr I think we were on a couple of the same trails in Moab a year or two ago?

I Appreciate the assist.

I was amused with the other 2 posts, first awesome and later edited to Good for You, guess that answered the other question.

I apologize I thought you're response was a sarcastic response to my questions. I couldn't find the thread/spreadsheet and had resorted to asking. Again, I apologize, I wasn't trying to be a jerkoff.

No worries, I apologize for the confusion and appreciate the apology!

18x9.5 +20 offset on 285/70/18

How much trimming? I know it’s outside the +25 sweet spot

On a BP51 lift 2.5” and spc uca

Is the database missing? I was gonna add info for my 37X13.50s

I'd toss my info in there as well if someone could provide a link to it.
