TLC2013
SILVER Star
@a200 on my land cruiser I have run LT285/65r18, LT275/70r18 and LT285/70r18. There is a noticeable weight penalty going up to a 34” tire (LT285/70r18). The LT275/70r18 and LT285/65r18 sizes generally weight in the low to mid 50 lbs range, looks like some of the heavier ones will exceed 60lbs like the Falken AT3w. 34” generally weight in the 60 to 70 pound range. I much prefer the weight of my 50 lbs all terrains in LT275/70r18 for daily driving.
Both LT275/70r18 and LT285/65r18 will fit with factory wheels (60 or 56mm offset) with minimal to no fuss depending on the specific make/model of the tire. I don’t see how LT285/70r18 would squeeze in there without some effort and cutting and molding of the front fender liners.
